Ravissante Salon & Spa Exceptional, Elegant Customer Care By Adrienne West

The French word “Ravissante” means “charming” and “delightful.” At Ravissante Salon & Spa, owner Alicia Taylor hopes that you’ll feel that way about her salon…and that you’ll feel that way about yourself when you’re done with your visit! Alicia has long had a passion within the wellness and beauty industry. “I’ve just always loved to fix people’s hair,” Alicia says. Her dream was to open up her own salon one day. To achieve this goal, she immersed herself in learning everything she could about the wellness and beauty industry. Her 30 years of experience include more than 20 years of advanced education, as well as work study with Aveda, Intelligent Nutrients, Toni & Guy, Vidal Sassoon, and L’oréal. Additionally, Alicia received personal training from Horst Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients, along with his daughter, Nicole Thomas-Rechelbacher. Alicia states, “I am a beauty and wellness professional that understands an exceptional customer experience that starts with listening to the customer and delivering the best combination of services and products to realize each individual vision.”  Alicia opened her first salon in 2013, in the North Gate area. In May, she excitedly opened her new, expanded location in Monument. Alicia designed every aspect of her salon. All of the personal touches she includes in her salon, from the elegant lighting to the exotic flowers to the unique purse hangers located by each stylist’s station, help to create a luxurious experience for her beloved clients. This care and attention to detail extend to Alicia’s clients, too. If a client’s hair doesn’t look quite perfect on her way out of the salon, Alicia will stop her for one more jet of hairspray or any finishing touches necessary. She takes the time to help the cosmetologists and estheticians ensure that a client’s new look is just what the client wants. Even though she is busy running the salon, Alicia still has a full calendar of personal clientele. Clients love the professional service they consistently receive from Alicia and her small staff of stylists, estheticians, and massage therapists. You can easily see the evidence of this on Ravissante Salon and Spa’s website and Facebook page, which is filled with happy clients’ recommendations. Charlie Searle writes, “Good people, friendly-yet-professional atmosphere, lots of combined experience among the staff.” Alicia highly values organic products in her salon. She became more conscious of the harmful effects of being exposed to ammonia-based hair products when she experienced nosebleeds when working

with those products. She took the time to learn about safe products to ensure her personal safety and that of her friends, family, and clients. “Everything you put in or on your body should be safe and nutritious,” she asserts. “I’m not going to do anything to my clients that I won’t do to myself or to my family.” Ravissante Salon & Spa is a certified Intelligent Nutrients Organic Salon with INOA ammonia free hair color. This means that all of the Intelligent Nutrients products sold in the salon are food grade. (Alicia proved this by spraying a bottle of nearby hairspray directly into her mouth.) The Intelligent Nutrients products are not just food grade, Alicia notes. “They are not only USDA-certified; they are globally tested, so they pass European standards, as well.” For hair color, Alicia uses the ammoniafree hair color line produced by L’Oréal Paris in collaboration with Horst Rechelbacher. Instead of ammonia, it contains beeswax. In hair color, this ingredient serves the same purpose as ammonia but without the dangerous side effects. Client Heather Johnston appreciates Alicia’s focus on safe products. “If you’re looking for a salon that’s ahead of the times, this is the place to go. Very conscientious about reducing the toxic load and the chemicals found in most salons. All of their products are natural and environmentally friendly.” Alicia believes in giving back to her community, and three of her favorite organizations are MADD, TESSA, and Value Up. Value Up was founded by a survivor of the Columbine High School shooting. They strive to address our society’s teen issues such as bullying, social media, suicide, and more, and to encourage teens to believe in the value of themselves and others. Ravissante Salon & Spa sponsors multiple fundraising events. Ravissante Salon & Spa is located at 1729 Lake Woodmoor Drive, in Monument. To make an appointment for any of the professional services they offer, please call 719-481-3344 or visit their website at ravissantesalon.com. Since the salon is currently growing, Alicia is always looking for experienced candidates to join her team. WE
