“Some two years ago our Surgery took the decision to appoint two Apprentices. Both Paige and Codie came to us with no specific Administration experience. However, they both came with a smile on their face and a willingness to learn. Both girls worked extremely hard both with their day to day work within a very busy Reception area and on their NVQ modules. Over time it became evident that we would be able to take them off in different directions and give them their own Administration work to go alongside their Reception work. Whilst they both had lots of in house training, the back up and support they received from Fay at Focus Training has been incredible. They are an extremely reliable company and are there to back the Apprentices up with any issues that arise. Both Apprentices have now been taken on by the Surgery. Paige has progressed at such a fast pace that she has now taken on added responsibility and become our Senior Receptionist. Last year we took on a new Apprentice Maisie and she too has been working towards her Business and Administration qualification. Once again, the support from Focus Training has been excellent. Maisie feels very well supported by both them and the team at the Surgery. “I would highly recommend any business to look at Apprenticeships as a way forward, this has transformed how we work within the Practice and we are able to train young people in the way that we wish them to work. It is also a way of young people gaining good qualifications that will stand them in good stead for future employment and would employ Apprentices in the future.”
