Age-Level Missions Discipleship R E F L E C T I O N S O F A YO U T H L E A D E R Donna Trusty, Youth Director at Green Creek Baptist Church in Dublin and member of WMU of Texas Board of Directors, shares first-hand how her youth were impacted by the new Missions Journey: Student curriculum. How do you use Missions Journey: Students (MJ:S)? One of the benefits of using MJ:S is the adaptability of the curriculum. I can teach a one-time lesson for the month, or I have plenty of material to cover lessons every week for the month. The video format really encourages discussion. Discussion prompts are available as downloads, which provides the opportunity for discussion to be student-led. The students in the group who exhibit leadership qualities can take on the role of facilitator. However, having questions to read can also engage students who are less likely to share thoughts, but are willing to read a question to the group. What is your favorite thing about the new format? The video format helps students visualize and experience the people and the places.

How has MJ:S changed the way you do missions discipleship with your teens? It has encouraged me to grow my youth in missions discipleship. Many of my youth are young in their walk with the Lord. They need help with using their Bible, praying, and sharing Christ with friends and classmates. MJ:S is teaching them about God, the Bible, mission work, and how others share Christ and show God’s love. What would you tell someone to encourage them to give MJ:S a try? If you are looking for a curriculum to help your youth grow, I recommend this one. Not only will MJ:S help students grow, learn, and understand more about missions across the world, it will also help them grow as a disciple of Christ.

CONGRESO

In 2021, Congreso met virtually by providing a full program to encourage students and churches to impact the next generation. Over 800 students engaged virtually with biblical teachings and worship. The Mary Hill Davis Offering assisted with scholarships for students to attend. Two of those students made professions of faith at the watch party at their church.
At Victory Bowl Week in Waco, Texas (hosted by the Heart of Texas FCA), 300 coaches, athletes, and band members received Bibles. Five prayed to receive Christ, and 155 renewed their commitment to following Christ more intentionally.
AAM started a Preaching Cohort providing preaching and training tools to pastors in Dallas, Houston, Louisiana, and Tyler, training a total of 87 pastors.
More than 5,000 people from 15 different countries connected for leadership training via 56 webinars, Zoom meetings, and YouTube engagements.
