WELCOME Can I welcome you to another busy season here at the Prince of Wales. We do endeavour to promote a wide range of live entertainment and theatre and I hope that this brochure confirms this. The Prince of Wales always has a broad spectrum of music concerts and this season is no exception. The season kicks off with a visit from Irish singer Nathan Carter and continues with concerts by The Opera Boys, the American Four Tops, Whitney Queen of the Night, Hermans Hermits, Foster and Allen and USA Soul and disco band Rose Royce. This is just a flavour of the concerts you can see here at the Prince of Wales this spring. We have been developing our drama programming over a number of years with Ambient Night productions. This is the 10th anniversary of that collaboration and following a public vote of all the previous productions, Up Pompeii returns for two nights in April. I’m especially delighted that we have secured dates with two legendary DJ’s. Tony Blackburn visits in March and Johnnie Walker in June. We haven’t forgotten our younger audience and how families like to visit the theatre together. So, watch out for TV’s Milkshake returning and following last years success we are hosting another Easter panto with the Wizard of Oz. The Prince of Wales has always been very much a community theatre hosting many and varied shows by local amateur groups. This season expect productions of Chicago the Musical and Sister Act amongst many others. Can I take this opportunity to thank the staff here but also the loyal band of front of House Volunteers who we simply could not operate without them. If you fancy volunteering here at the theatre please contact us for details. Finally, can I thank you our audiences. Without your support the theatre would not be growing as it is and we look forward to welcoming you again here at the Prince of Wales.

Many thanks to all our hard working staff and loyal band of front of house volunteers: Theatre Manager: Richard Kay Duty Managers: Sandra Conroy Lauren Draper Technical Manager: Andrew Kennerley Housekeepers: Lorraine Veste Chris Wheatley Technicians: Andrew Derry Mick Perry Martin Derry Andrew Jones-Mair Ian Collins Jordan Willetts Jake Jones Sam Hilditch Lauren Knowles Ian Cheadle Box Office Assistants: Val Cunningham Barbara Sutherland Katie Birch Jan Turner Abi Kay Catering Assistants: Kathleen Greensill Nicki French Margaret Russon Margaret Taylor Katie Birch Kay Walker Abigail Kay Lauren Moore Jamie Fowler-Parkes Ashleigh Gardiner

MERSEY BEATLES Friday 3rd April 7.30pm Voted the best Beatles tribute band by the British Beatles fan club. The Mersey Beatles have racked up over 350 performances at the Cavern Club where they are the resident band. Like the original Fab Four, the Mersey Beatles are Liverpool born and bred. Their last performance at the Prince of Wales was a complete sell-out and saw standing ovations all round. Expect all the Beatles hits ranging from the Beatlemania era to Pepperland in full costumes. “There are a lot of Beatles tribute bands all over the world but the Mersey Beatles are the best I’ve heard” said John Lennon’s sister Julia Baird in 2008.
