EDITOR’S VIEW ………………...

Dr. Andrea D. Gollop

While the church places great emphasis on “marriage is honorable and the bed undefiled” more than ever the divorce statistics rises within the church. Why? We spend much time teaching on marriage but glaze over teachings on being single until God’s time of placing a mate in our lives. Thus, more and more singles experience feelings of failure and deprivation. Too often the question is asked, “what’s wrong with me?” NOTHING. Acceptance of this mindset is what has caused many unsuspecting singles to hasten to the alter needing to fit into the just married and blessed community. In one of every two cases, this quickly turns into the married and distressed club. Nothing is wrong with you. “To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecc. 3:1) “Your singleness is not a state of failure or deprivation: it is your time in an exclusive relationship with God. A time of connection and purpose. In this single time of your life, God is jealously keeping you to Himself. He longs for His time with you, just as you would for time with a loved one. Before He releases you into a relationship of trust and relying on someone else, He has to solidify His relationship with you. Thus you may know Him as your provider in every area of your life.

thing. Singleness (singlehood) in Christ Jesus is a unique and beautiful place to be if you wholly embrace it. Let us take the example of Adam, man’s first single person. We find him in Genesis chapter two. Having made creation in all its perfection, God created the world’s first single, Adam. We all know the story. God did say it was not good for man to be alone. But notice that God only said “ it’s not good for Adam to be alone” after a time of singleness! A time of trusting in God; relationship with God; and working for God. Also, pay attention to the fact that it was God that saw and decided. Not Adam. Let’s take a closer look at Genesis 2:8-22.  In verses, 8-15 God prepares a place for Adam. This man who’s trust rested entirely in God to supply all of his needs.  In verses 16-17 we find that God talks to Adam signifying that they communicated with each other (RELATIONSHIP!).  In verse 18 God makes a notation of Adams' singleness, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help-meet for him.”  In verses 19 and 20 we see that God, having observed Adams singleness does not resolve it right away. Instead, God gives Adam an assignment. A task God needed Adam to complete before other responsibilities were added to his life.  In verse 22, After Adam had completed the tasks assigned to him in this single season of his life, God then makes him a help-meet. He took time and created every inch of her inner and outer being/person. While He did so, Adam rested. Now contrary to popular belief, living single in Christ, as a happy, healthy and complete person, fulfilling a purpose and reaching destiny, is possible. There is nothing wrong with you if you are not married yet. Consider this. Perhaps God is not through developing you in Him, or maybe you are yet fulfilling your purpose (s) assigned to your singlehood, and before other responsibilities are added to your life. Be sure of one thing; God knows about your aloneness long before you realize you are alone. Trust God to be GOD and stay focused on your purpose busy doing what He has assigned you! Remember, “He hath made everything beautiful in his time:” Ecc. 3:11 To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven”. Whether never married, divorced, widowed, single parent, NOTHING is wrong with you when your life is in God’s hands; God’s time. Dr. Andrea D. Gollop Editor In Chief

ECHOING The Call To REPENTANCE -Apostle Dr. Lloyd Benson, Sr. As an Apostle to the nations, I speak. There is an urgency in the spirit to release what God has placed upon my heart for the nations and churches around the world. For several weeks intercessors and I have been fasting, praying and seeking God for His divine intervention. In Stuttgart, Germany, I was a keynote speaker in a Leadership Conference where hundreds of Pastors gathered from many nations. Two of these pastors asked me a startling question. What is the greatest need of this sinful wicked hour in which we live? Without hesitation, I answered with a plain and piercing word; REPENTANCE. The word repentance is sadly missing from most pulpits around the world. I believe with all my heart that God is saying we must return to His biblical foundation of holiness and righteous living. In American, I am deeply troubled that American Christianity is at the crossroad. Today our church is filled with idols of modern civilization. We believe we can have all this world has to offer and somehow hold on to God also. Like the nation of ancient Israel, America has sinned and is slowly departing from God. We have rejected God’s Word as truth. Without His word, which is our foundation for truth, there is confusion and gross immorality.

The word

REPENTANCE is sadly missing from most pulpits around the world. Global Link Magazine / 4th Qtr. 2018

The so-called “new morality” has replaced the reverence for God’s word as the only source for truth and morality. There are others who have risen up against God’s word, working to remove every vestige of God from our government and school and destroy the very foundation upon which this nation was built. America is following the same steps of ancient Israel, which brought judgment upon her. God’s judgments are upon the nations and God alone knows to what degree the churches of America, England, and Europe are directly responsible for the spiritual collapse of these nations and for their judgment. Too many people today are going through the motion of religion without God. We attend church Sunday after Sunday, and most of us return home the same way: no serious commitment, 5

THE MOST TRAGIC THING IN A WORLD FILLED WITH TRAGEDY IS THE FACT THAT AN UNREPENTANT CHURCH IS THE ONLY THING THAT IS STANDING BETWEEN A WORLD IN NEED AND GOD WHO IS ABLE TO DELIVER. -Dr. Lloyd Benson, Sr.conviction, or change. We have services, programs, projects,

26:32, that sin would bring any nation “....into desolation; and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.” Behind the glimmer of much church growth, the all-knowing piercing eye of a holy God has been witness to what has taken place behind the walls of our churches, homes and in our businesses. What was concealed is revealed. Sin is exposed. We are weak and powerless to stem the tide of secularism because we are not a holy people of God. If we could see into the lives of God’s preachers, leaders, and people, we would be appalled. Recent revelation and scandals of moral and financial corruption in the lives of some of our prominent spokesmen are but the tip of the iceberg of spiritual and moral decay in our churches. Our nations are facing judgment because of the spiritual condition of the church. Where is the travailing anointing for souls to be born into the kingdom? The prayer meeting anointing is dying or is already dead. There is no move of God around the altar. The gifts of the spirit are not in full operation. Where is the preacher who is the minister of the Lord, weeping between the porch and the altar, praying, spare the people, O Lord? (Joel 2:17) We lack spiritual leadership in this hour of crisis because we lack spiritfilled leaders. Many of our most renowned preachers are more interested in promoting themselves than Jesus Christ. They are more concerned about their material prosperity than they care about the spiritual welfare of the church. America and other nations need to hear the messages of genuine men and women of God: holy men who do not preach for money nor compromise for position, power, politics, or popularity. Here’s how to tell a real anointed man or woman of God: He or she will “cry aloud, spare not, lift thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob (the church) their sins.” (Isaiah 58:1) Most preachers of today protest freely and hesitantly against sin and atrocities against God as to make the angels weep and God’s saints grieved. As I study the scriptures and the history of the church, I can only conclude that nothing short of genuine repentance will spare us from God’s judgment. We need true repentance. We need to be convicted, cleansed and transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. Repentance is necessary to bring the church back

weddings, funerals, and entertainment by the pastor and the choir, but we do not have the presence and power of God. “Righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people” God again says, “blessed is the nation whose God is Lord. And the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance.” Ps 33:12

Our nation is full of hypocrite-professing Christian people who hear the Word of God but won’t obey it. (James 1:22) We hear songs, pleasing sermons and amens, but we do not see much righteousness. Our nation is full of church members, but we do not see many who live holy and walking in obedience to God. Our nation is full of preachers, but few are valiant to preach the whole counsel of God, nor do they believe in the gifts of the spirit or the fivefold ministry that will usher the saints into the fullness of the stature of Christ. (Eph. 4:11-13)

America is in trouble today because her churches are in trouble. The Lord is waiting for His people in the land to heed His warning and to act on His commands. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14

I fear we are dealing with a cancerous, malice that is eating away at the very fiber of Christianity. Our condition is deep and serious and it is not just going to go away. Our jails are overflowing, resulting in the release of many criminals. Our penal institutions are horror houses of rape, violence and hopelessness. Our schools are becoming the shame of the entire world. Some of our schools have become a miniature hell where kids are confronted with guns; knives; drugs; violence and promiscuous sex. God is slowly departing from our midst for the same reasons He departed from ancient Israel. We must repent for our selfishness and wickedness. Can the cities of our nation say they are not polluted? Is this nation ripening for judgment? We need to be reminded that judgment begins at the house of the Lord. (I Peter 4:17) The most tragic thing in a world filled with tragedy is the fact that an unrepentant church is the only thing that is standing between a world in need and God who is able to deliver. In my study of the scripture, Moses warned Israel in Leviticus Global Link Magazine / 4th Qtr. 2018

to the new testament Christianity and release the power of God in our nation. God has established prophets as spiritual watchmen in the church today who have been called and anointed to speak, apostolically and prophetically to sound an alarm, to warn and to call for repentance that will sweep across this nation. Pastors, Bishops, Apostles, Evangelists, and Priests, if ever it was a time for us to lay aside our differences, for the saving of our nation and churches, it is now. It is time to unite and mobilize prayer and repentance on a scale we have never witnessed. Inevitably the need besides which every other need sinks into insignificance is repentance, a sincere and widespread repentance. We are no pessimists. We do not for a moment lose sight of the fact that the foundation of God stands sure. We do not for a moment question that God has His thousand who has not bowed their knee to the world, the flesh and the devil. We have united in declaring that the only remedy for the evils we deplore is repentance. One day we will all give an account before God. We must be faithful to speak the word He has given us to speak; to cry out and give warning. “Surely the Lord God will do nothing but he revealeth His secret unto His servant the prophet.” Amos 3:7 If we repent, God has promised His mercy, restoration, and blessings. “...return thou backsliding Israel, said the Lord ... for I am merciful, said the Lord.” We must heed God’s warning. “...acknowledge our sins, repent.. turn away from our ungodly ways.” Let us turn back to God in a new way. Prophetess Yvonne Jamison

trated so beautifully in the story of Ruth in the Bible.

A CALL TO UNITY How do we deflate these walls that have been built up that God has already taken down? How do we unveil these masks that have blinded Gods people and take away any peripheral vision? Lack of vision causes us not to see our full range and makes us operate out of constricted tunnel vision. God wants us to see clearly. We have asked God to heighten our discernment which is critical for this hour and time. God is looking and seeking a glorious Church; a people without spot or wrinkle. Transitioning vision into reality compelling the people to come, for the Harvest is plenty and the laborers are few. The Parable of the wise and the foolish virgins. Five were wise and five were foolish and when it was time to meet the groom five were prepared and five were not ready to go in to meet the bridegroom. The passage says they all slept, but there was a cry heard. The bridegroom was coming and five were ready to meet him and the other five were foolish and didn’t have oil and their door was shut. This makes me ask the question, what’s stopping us from getting to a place in God. God doesn’t just show up when we want him to, sometimes delay is good. It can be seen as who’s still standing on God’s word. It’s time out for playing Church. We have to be ready when he calls, to move and obey. We cannot procrastinate. We must be ready when God comes and sound the alarm. We have to be in the right place at the right time and speaking the same thing as Jesus Christ.

Ruth had to cling to her mother-in-law. This meant that Ruth would leave Moab, the only place she’s ever known, Ruth had to make a decision to cling to her mother-in-law Naomi who also lost her husband and her two sons which one was Ruth’s husband. This meant leaving her family and friends behind which her friends serve false gods. Naomi urged Oprah and Ruth to stay in Moab, a place of sin and rebellion. Ruth said I’ll go where you go, I’ll lodge where you lodge, your people shall be my people and your God my God, and where you die, I will die.

THE POWER OF UNITY It’s time to bridge the gap Church; it is incredible seeing God's people uniting with fellow believers. Unfortunately, too often when we face challenges in life, our human nature wants to withdraw and isolate. When we unite God gives us strength. He brings healing, deliverance, peace, nothing missing, nothing lacking, The Hebrew word for peace is Shalom 2Corithains 2:11, lest Satan should get an advantage of us for we are not ignorant of his devices. FRAGRANCE OF GOD

Fragrance of carnality or a Fragrance of CHRIST? You carry a smell!!! If you walk through a smokefilled room, the smell of smoke attaches itself to you. If you go to a BBQ restaurant, you leave with the smell of the BBQ pit on you. GOD wants you to be so close to HIM that wherever you go people smell HIS LOVE on you! We are always buying the next best smell good, we buy candles, room deodorizers, perfume, deodorant because we want to smell good. Why don't you invest a little more time in HIS PRESENCE and see what that gets you‌ I'll tell you what it will get you. It'll get you more in Love with HIM, more in love with people, more in love with the things of God. John 13:3435 says you are to love one another. Matthew 5:44 says that you are to love those that hurt you. 1Corinthians 13:4-8 says love is patient, love is kind. Also in John 4:7-8 scripture says that we should love one another because GOD IS LOVE! Proverbs 10:12 says that hate stirs up strife, but LOVE covereth all sins.. the Fragrance of God is LOVE!! Be that pleasing scent in a world full of hate, Be a true Fragrance of the Father! Let others smell CHRIST in you! Get so close to HIM that HIS smell the Smell of JESUS will overpower your smell! Be that grateful odor the brings someone to the love and understanding of Christ. Pray right now "Lord, bring me so close to you that when others see me, they smell YOU. Help me be your Fragrance carrier! "

Pastor Jeanna Manguno What is the Fragrance of God? Everything has a fragrance! Some good, some bad, but there is a fragrance to EVERYTHING! Just like there is a season to everything there is a distinct smell to EVERYTHING! 2 Corinthians 2:14-15 say that we are a sweet savor ( fragrance) of Christ unto God. The definition of fragrance is the sweetness of smell; that quality of bodies which affects the olfactory ( having the sense of smell) nerves with an agreeable sensation; pleasing scent; grateful odor. WOW! So what is HIS Fragrance? I asked, HE replied," MY FRAGRANCE IS LOVE" You may say love doesn't have a smell, a fragrance, but it does. It most definitely does! Think about the things you love; you probably love them because they are associated with a smell that you remember that brought you joy. Sunshine has a smell, trees have smells, the rain, the flowers, blossoms. You can smell HIS Fragrance in everything HE created. Genesis 1:1-31 says that HE CREATED THE EARTH FOR FELLOWSHIP WITH YOU, HE created this earth, gave you dominion over it all because HE loved you! God sent HIS only Son JESUS, purely out of HIS love for you (John 3: 16). Also Romans 5:8 says that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. When you crush a flower, you get the true Fragrance of it‌Isaiah 53:5. CHRIST WAS CRUSHED FOR YOU! Again in 2 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 15 says that we are a sweet fragrance of Christ to God, key word there is OF; Of Christ unto God! John 10:30 says that " My Father and I are one" also in Ephesians 5:2 it says that He ( Christ ) gave himself for us as an offering, a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling Fragrance. So, if the Fragrance of God is love, the Fragrance of His son Jesus is love as well! Think of HIS love - HE came as a sacrifice willingly. HE could have called angels at any point to redeem HIM, to save HIM, HE even asked if it be possible to let this cup pass, but HIS love for you kept HIM!!!! HE loves us when we are unlovable. Think about the fragrance you are putting off. Is it a Global Link Magazine / 4th Qtr. 2018

FLYING WITH THE FAITHFUL

Pastor Lloyd Benson, II, MBA

Flying with the Faithful I was waiting in the terminal at Los Angeles International Airport for an extended period. The passengers were aboard the plane on the runway, but something took place where the pilot had to delay the time in which it took for us to take flight into the air and before we could ascend, and I can get to my final destination. During that time God said to me, “It’s important that you learn in every situation that I’ve allowed you to wait because with me if you would appreciate the waiting, then you can more so see what you have to endure before your final destination.” But in the waiting, we waste time instead of investing time, instead of learning in the process, because we’re saying I’m just waiting on time to pass. But God says when I have you in “the waiting” it’s not for you to wait on time to pass. It’s for you to invest time Global Link Magazine / 4th Qtr. 2018

therefore when you do begin to ascend, you’ll already be ready for the assignment or your destination that’s ahead of you. So I decided to get out my notebook because God is not required to speak more than once. He gives you something, and you must be in tuned to hear. That’s why it’s important that we learn to listen more than we speak because God comes in a still small voice. And you must be able to cancel out the external noise to be able to hear what God is trying to speak to your spirit. You must be still to know that He is God and he’s speaking to you. So God said to me, “Look around you and begin to talk to those that are in your immediate vicinity.” I was in seat 24A in the rear of the plane. I had not made it first class yet, but I will get there. Being in the rear, is like being on the bottom, but you can be on top on the bottom. Even in the rear, you can be in the first class in the back. It just depends on understanding where you are seated and where God has placed you strategically. I was seated in the rear of the plane. God spoke to me and said, “There are four people I need you to meet in the back of this plane.” Then God reminded me of a pilot I met before this trip who explained to me the wonders about flying. The pilot said there are four main things you need to know before you can take off in an airplane: you must have the lift, you must have thrust, you must have weight, and you must have drag. Lift, thrust, weight, and drag. God will sometimes take you through something, and then He’ll bring it back to your remembrance later, so, you can understand what he was trying to teach you at that time. While I was in the back of this plane, God said, “I exposed you to the pilot first. I exposed you to leadership first, but now you have to go back and get the lesson.” Apostle Dr. Lloyd Benson told us “God will expose you to what you are to become.” And so, God had exposed me to the pilot, but I had not yet got the lesson from it. So, while I’m sitting there, God said again, “There are four people you’re going to meet, Mr. Lift, Ms. Thrust, Mr. Weight and Dr. Drag.” Then God begins to say, “Fly with the faithful, fly with the faithful.” Then I took notice of the people in my vicinity. These are real people with fictitious names. Mr. Lift is the guy to my right. He’s worked all over the country. He’s an architect and builds hospitals, so he’s been flying all his life. Mr. Lift told me we could do two or three things while we’re on this plane together. He said, “We can ei12

www.wlcm.org

ther go to sleep, look around, watch movies or do it the old fashion way before they had phones, we can talk to each other.” Mr. Lift began to encourage me and lift me right where I was. He encouraged me because I told him I had a new job position and I’m not accustomed to being away from my home, from church, and from family; I’m a home guy.” Then Mr. Lift said, “you know what Lloyd if you travel enough you are going to accumulate a lot of travel miles and points in these travel programs and so your next vacation is probably going to be paid for.” I said “man you have a point,” and I started to feel good because he’s now lifted me. He's helped me feel good about where I was going. He's helped me; he’s encouraged my soul to say I must be doing the right thing. He showed me how what I’m doing is connected to purpose and making sure that my family is cared for. Seated on the other side of me was Ms. Thrust. She said “Lloyd you look like you’re a little bit uncomfortable in the back. I told her I don’t like flying in the back because my father has flown over a million miles on a couple of airliners, and he told me that the worst place to fly is in the back of the plane. That’s where you feel all the turbulence at in the back of the plane. So I said, “to be honest, you’re right, I don’t want to sit back here not that it’s anything against you two because you all are great, but I would much rather be in the front.” Guess what Ms. Thrust said, “This is not a full flight. If you would like I’ll ask the attendant to seat you a little closer to the front because there is a seat on the end of the row available way up there.” Ms. Thrust was thrusting me into a better position. I was seated between Mr. Lift and Ms. Thrust, and now I’m feeling a little comfortable because I’m flying in between the faithful. I’m in between the positive. Reflect on who you are sitting in between in your daily life. Are you sitting in between lift and thrust? Is someone on your right encouraging you lifting your spirit, cheering you up? Is somebody on the left of you thrusting you to move forward to experience all that God has for your life? Oh, I forgot there are two more people that I didn’t tell you about. They were sitting in front of me and one across the aisle from me. There was Dr. Drag and Mr. Weight. Dr. Drag turns around immediately and tells me he says, “You know what, the last time I was on one of these planes they left the door open.” When I’m Global Link Magazine / 4th Qtr. 2018

about to ascend to 35,000 feet in the air, I don’t want to hear about anybody leaving a door open. At this point, I need him to move because he’s becoming a drag to my spirit. He is causing me not to want to experience my final destination. Then Dr. Drag said, “And on another flight, the airline didn’t even realize they left the baggage.” Listen, you never want to fly with a person that has scary stories about flying. But why do we fly with people in life that never have anything good to tell you? Why do we keep people in our circle that every time you see them, it’s a drag? They’re dropping their trash off on you! The folks on your job are always trying to keep you down; “you are never going to be able to advance anywhere, the last time I was in a position like you I never got the promotion”. Drag, preventing you from experiencing your final destination. Then there was Mr. Weight. Do you know some people, after you finish talking to them it feels like you just worked a 16-hour shift or as though you ran a marathon? You were vibrant, God was moving, you had just heard a powerful message from your Pastor, you left Sunday worship services ready for the week ahead, and you have one conversation that weighs down like you worked a 16-hour shift. Now you’re tired and you don’t even know why you’re tired. Well, Mr. Weight was sitting across the aisle from me. Mr. Weight had already occupied two seats, and all he did the whole flight was complain the seats weren’t big enough. He complained that they only gave him one bag of pretzels. When the flight attendant poured his drink in a cup, he said, “They could’ve given me the whole can.” The whole time nothing that was done by the flight attendant was good enough. Is there a Mr. Weight in your environment, saying things like “They painted the church, but I don’t like that color. Why did they put seats on the stage now, nothing is right.” Weights, the more you talk to them, the harder it seems to get where you are trying to go. They weigh you down. These people don’t exist only in the church; these people exist in your life. God says, “When you fly with the faithful you realize you identify who’s giving you the lift, who’s giving you the thrust, who’s become a weight in your life and who is dragging you down.” When God is getting you ready for “Take Off,” you must put these four personalities in perspective to experience your final destination. It may seem like it’s impossible it may seem like it’s never going to happen but with God, it can happen when you fly with the faithful! Luke 18:8 “I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” He asked you a question “shall I find faith, shall I find those that have been FLYING WITH THE FAITHFUL CONTINUED ON PG 14

So as God is moving us to the next dispensation of our lives, it may seem like it’s never going to happen for you, as though you’re in a holding pattern and sitting on the runway of life. Everyone else is passing you up. Everyone else is getting the promotion and the accolades. Everyone else seems to have a happy family and is joyful while you’re sitting there. God is saying, “You’re still sitting there because you haven't heard my voice. You’ve allowed Dr. Drag and Mr. Weight to keep you in that holding pattern. I have sent people into your life to lift you and thrust you into the next stage of your life, just like I did in 2 Kings 7:1 ‘Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.’ within 24 hours I can turn your situation around, but you must fly with the Faithful!

In a matter of moments, any of you can go from being a manager to being a franchise owner. God does not take forever to do what he has to do when you have your heart, and your mind stayed on him. Don’t you ever walk around feeling defeated when you know you’ve walked with the faithful. You know you been in the company of the faithful because God has told us time and time again he even said in Judges 5:11 “They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the Lord, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the Lord go down to the gates.” You must have deliverance just from the noise: they that are delivered from the social media, they that are delivered from the telephone, those that are delivered from the television. MILLENNIAL VOICE

NOW SEE ME! Now See Me! "Eyes that look are common eyes that see are rare.", "Whatever you expose yourself to is what you grow into.",

"Whatever your ears hear will become the language in your life."- International Prelate Chief Apostle Dr. Lloyd Benson, Sr. The quotes used above describe my generation to a "T." The question is, do you see what I see in the quotes? They depict and shed light on the visual, literary, and audio aspects of my generation. The first quote represents the visual aspect of my generation today. Are you seeing us or are you just looking at us? Many times, we want someone to see us. We search out for those who can understand our past yet see a bright future; able to see the value and potential in us and be able to pull it out of us. In the bible when Moses was a baby, and there was a death warrant sent throughout the land that all male children were to be killed. Moses mother had to decide. It was either let him die in the present or propel him to his future. When his mother set him out in that basket floating down a dangerous river yet knowing that destiny outweighed the risk. When Pharaoh's daughter was at the river as my leader Apostle Benson once said, "she not only pulled out a baby, but she pulled out a leader, a nation." Meaning that knowing the risk of possible disappointment, frustration, and the overall sacrifice, yet staying true to the walk. What we are exposing ourselves to on a daily is what we believe will help us to grow and mature as people. Social Media has become our life guide, parent, and teacher for some who need guidance. Now social media has become an outlet to many wanting to have a voice. To those that are seeking understanding and most of all acceptance. There are people in society today that have categorized social media outlets as nothing but the devil on a screen. However, maybe it's the only way that my generation feels that they are heard. Perhaps they have created a culture using social media to be the person that they've always dreamed of being. The screen has become a platform to say what they feel. As my mentor, Pastor Lloyd Benson, Jr. said, Global Link Magazine / 4th Qtr. 2018

"people are only showing you highlight reels." Is it possible that we have recreated ourselves using social media tools at hand? Is it possible that we created an environment that we dream to have but fight to obtain? Are we only showing people what we think will gain our acceptance? Or are we calling out just through words, but no one takes the time to read in between the lines. The content which flows through our ear gates is it destruction or a demonstration of what life is all about or suppose to be. My generation is big on music and to be honest. It boils down to only certain genres that drive and navigate our lives. Have you ever been somewhere, and you heard a young person sing out of the blue? I mean they are as we say "dropping bars" loudly and out in public. Well is it possible that to them that's what they are feeling at the time? Could it be that they want someone to pick up the vibration of their cry? According to the National Ocean Service whales "make noise to communicate, locate food, and to find each other." Could it be that the reason why music plays a significant role in my generation is that we are trying to say something? We are trying to say something, but some of us don't know how to put it into words. We are trying to communicate through lyrics, seeking food which is the anecdote to our depression, anxiety, heartbreak, disappointment, and we make noise so that someone will locate us but our voices are seemingly being lost in the crowd. We are who we are according to what we feed ourselves. We hope that others see us and not just look at us. We are exposing ourselves to what we believe as living it up yet knowing that sometimes it brings pain and destruction. Speaking the language of the time to be considered "trending" however not understanding the magnitude, and power in the words we speak. Do you see us or are you just looking at us, exposing ourselves to what we think is the right way to go and grow, and speaking what we feel yet still ignored? Aaliyah Courtney, Staff Writer 15

Overcoming Challenges We Face As Leaders when the testing of our faith is challenged, to never give up but to always get up and complete the assignment because we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. Though many times we have given our lives to those who perhaps were never connected to our vision that brought us great pain as a leader and into a place of becoming weary in our welldoing, which makes us realize that we had to immediately begin to tear down the walls of defeat and deception in which the enemy wanted us to believe and receive. Instead, we as leaders chose to rise with wings like an eagle and soar above it all. No matter where life tries to take us, by being connected to God we know that His will never will take us where His grace cannot keep us. No matter how some will try to stop you and block you, they will never be able to forget you, because it has been proven you are an overcomer by the blood of the lamb and by the words of your testimony. I have seen the good, bad and the ugly but never the righteous forsaken. I have seen the overflow swindle down to a standstill, the increase in giving decrease to a little of nothing but never have I seen faithfulness not to be rewarded with favor. It was God’s word that kept me in the race and fought against every demonic attack. My challenges caused me to be blessed with a church full of new beautiful chairs and glass podium free of charge! Given to us in the same color scheme as our church. God is faithful! Challenges pay off.

Pastor Georgia Ealy OVERCOMING THE CHALLENGES WE FACE AS LEADERS

When entering into the unexpected journey, I never thought that I would face so many challenges, even though I had many, they helped me to become a champion as I triumphantly overcame each challenge. As the spirit of God continued to empower me to fulfill my calling, I allowed every experience to become a learning process for the ministry, realizing if there were no pain I could never gain what I needed to help me to become a better me. I genuinely believe in Romans 8:28. “We know that all things work together for the good, for those who love God, and for those who are called according to his purpose.” We as leaders may all start out with baby steps but before this journey is all over we will be making giant size steps, and these steps will forever lead us to our destiny. Every word of God that we have heard is there to help us to be reminded Global Link Magazine / 4th Qtr. 2018

NATIONAL CONGRESS OF BLACK WOMEN Baton Rouge Chapter ANNUAL PRAYER AND AWARDS BRUNCH 2018

REVIEW It was a cold cloudy early Saturday morning just ten days before Christmas…. But at the Tracy Center 1800 S. Acadian Thruway in Baton Rouge, was a bright beautiful holiday-decorated Ballroom filled with wonder joy and great excitement as the Baton Rouge Chapter of the National Congress of Black Women, (NCBW) and its Chairwoman, Dr. Lue Russell, hosted its Annual Prayer and Awards Brunch 2018, honoring the LOUISIANA LEGISLATIVE BLACK CAUCUS MEMBERS FOR THEIR UNITED STAND AND FULL SUPPORT OF THE 2018 BUDGET PRESENTED BY GOVERNOR JOHN BEL EDWARDS THAT BOTH ADDRESSED THE MASSIVE BUDGET SHORTFALL WE FACED AS A STATE AND, ITS PASSAGE ENDED THREATS OF LOSS OF CRITICAL STATE SERVICES FOR MANY RESIDENTS OF OUR GREAT STATE OF LOUISIANA. This Royal Holiday Themed celebration held Saturday, December 15, 2018, 10am, at the Tracy Center Ballroom, was the Third (3rd) annual execution of this signature event and annual fundraiser for the National Congress of Black Women, Baton Rouge Chapter. The event has also become known statewide for its recognition of public servants and elected officials who have served the people they represent WELL!

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Adren Wilson, spoke of humble beginnings and how where one starts does not determine where you are going and with hard work and education you can elevate into greatness. He also stated the necessity of remembering those who help you along the way, the hand of God upon your life, giving back and serving others as part of the road to success. Apostle Dr. Lloyd Benson Sr., began speaking a blessing over the leaders of the organization and the elected officials who were Honored in 2017. This year his prayer and message

centered around “Prayer is nonpartisan” it covers the democrats, the republicans, the liberals and the conservatives for there is only one God and one family in God. His revelatory word included his motto, “One Million people divided is one million people….one million people united is one people”! As the 34 members of the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus—elected state representatives and state senators from around the state—were honored and awarded for their exemplary service, their appreciation was succinctly

Our Honorable Governor John Bel Edwards Office’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Adren Wilson, Ph.D., served as the Keynote Speaker and Apostle Dr. Lloyd Benson, Sr., President/CEO, World Link of Churches and Ministries, Inc. spoke a powerful prayer of blessings over the elected officials of the state of Louisiana and especially over the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus members. summed up in these words of the Chairman of the Legislative Black Caucus, State Representative Attorney Randal Gaines to Chairwoman, Dr. Lue Russell….”It was a beautiful, well attended and well organized event. We owe you our most sincere gratitude and thanks!. You have taken the NCBW to an extremely high level of cutting edge effectiveness and influence.” In addition to our recognition of the 2018 Legislative Black Caucus Members, the organization supported the children and families of our Adopted School, PARK ELEMENTARY for Christmas by asking all attendees to bring one or more of the following items: Unwrapped NEW toys New children clothes—shirts, pants, underwear, socks, belts, sweaters, gloves, jackets, shoes School supplies. The principal of Park Elementary, Dr. Stephanie Tate, Ph.D., is a member of the NCBW Baton Rouge Chapter. Dr. Lue Russell, the Founding Chairwoman of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the National Congress of Black Women, initiated and began organizing the chapter in 2014 and the Chapter was Chartered as an Official Chapter of the organization in 2015 with over fifty-three women professionals— political, business, and educators. The Baton Rouge Chapter was Honored by the National Office of the Organization as the largest chapter in the country in 2016 and 2017. Finally, the National President of the National Congress of Black Women, Dr. E. Faye Williams, Esq., sent her congratulations by letter to Dr. Lue Russell and I quote “I am so pleased with the work of your chapter. At this time, community service is most critical, and much needed. It is also important for our leaders like you to be in touch frequently with policymakers, and I know that you have done a masterful job of that. By honoring them for their work, it is obvious your chapter and you agree that they are meeting the challenges they face.” We do hope YOU will join us next year for this great event held every December.
