WKUPD and BGFD respond to microwave fire in Jody Richards Hall

A microwave fire broke out on the third floor, room 309 of Jody Richards Hall, around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Lauren Howe, a senior and video editor for Cherry Creative, part of Student Publications, was in JRH when the fire started.

“We were all working in lab 127 in Jody Richards, and then all of a sudden, we just hear the fire alarms going off, and we were deciding what to do,” Howe said. “I personally packed up all my stuff and then waited for them to do the same.”

Month concludes with Carne Asada cookout

The smell of carne asada in the air reminded Yaritza Castro Guadalupe, a sophomore education major, of her father’s cooking.

Guadalupe said her dad used to do carne asadas every weekend, but he stopped and hasn’t done one in a while. She said it was nice to be able to do something similar to that again.

WKU Football to host FIU on national television

WKU Football will look to continue their win streak as they host FIU on Tuesday night at Houchens-Smith Stadium.
