Determining What Good Battery Health Looks Like for Phones, Tablets, and Laptops

Batteries are like car gas tanks that shrink a little every time they’re filled. It doesn’t matter how good you are at taking care of your phone’s tablets and laptop batteries. The reality is that batteries don’t last forever. Charging and discharging your battery degrades it, and as time passes, you’ll get less battery life even when it charges to full. It will get to the point where you will start thinking about replacing the battery or the device. Lithium-ion battery technology has not been significantly changed or advanced in almost 30 years. The phone in your pocket, the tablet in your backpack, and your laptop are all modern miracles and features of human engineering. However, irrespective of how impressively they have been designed and what features they possess, all these gadgets have one common denominator: they are powered by batteries which typically begin to fail in health after 12-18 months. So if the battery dies, you won’t be able to power and use these gadgets, and they will essentially be worthless pieces of equipment.

What Does Good Battery Health Look Like? There are numerous ways you can prolong the life of your battery and keep its capacity up by taking proper care, but battery degradation is something you’ll eventually face. If you’re replacing devices often or every couple of years, you won’t even notice it, but for devices that you intend to keep for longer like your laptop, you will need to replace the battery eventually. Some devices may even give you warnings that it is time you thought about replacing the battery, but for other devices, you can always install third-party apps that check the battery’s health.
