Reviews I was dreading going on the Slow Carb Diet. It sounded miserable. I love carbs. I love GARBAGE FAST FOOD. Like every single day. But I got so embarrassingly fat for my PERSONAL taste that enough was enough and I got started that day when I weighed myself and it was 248 lbs - when i woke up, after peeing, etc. That was 10 days ago. I weighed myself just now in the middle of the day, I've eaten twice today, zero poops, a ton of liquid, and I was 218. That's 30 lbs. in 10 days. My BF% has gone down like 4% and my body water % has gone UP 3% so I'm not just losing water here folks. My binge day was HORRIBLY OVER THE TOP. I've cheated 3 out of the last 4 days total actually, with 2 gigantic fast food meals one of the days. I should add that after the SCHEDULED cheat day which made me feel like total garbage, put me in a food coma and I literally had double vision... I gained all the weight back. 2 days later it was all gone and then some. Then came cheat day #2 (unscheduled), added a few lbs. but again lost THAT and then some. Exercise? The total amount of exercise I've done over the course of these 10 days is as follows. 20 minutes in the gym, 5 pathetic sets on the ASSISTED PULLUP MACHINE, and 5 sets of reverse crunches. That's it. The rest of the time I have spent on my ass.

I had my second son about 3 months ago and have been looking for a way to drop the baby lbs. With an almost 3 year old and the little guy I don't have a lot of time to mess around. The fat-loss diet is working well for me. It is simple and you don't have to eat a zillion times a day. It isn't super strict, and the cheat day is a key feature for me to adhere. I can be strict all week if I get my ice cream and pancakes on Saturday! I feel like my body is well-fueled for chasing the kiddos as well as nursing (I breastfeed my youngest exclusively) Also, randomly, my hair, nails and skin look awesome. I am adding some weights to my routine this week (the kettlebell swing) This book is an


interesting and entertaining read, and I am enjoying experimenting with what works for me.

As for putting on muscle, I was able to put on 6 pounds of solid muscle in 45 days following one of the protocols in the book. I was only about 60% efficient in following the protocol as well. If I was following it 100%, I imagine, I would have put on between 8-10. Everyone in my life noticed the results and were stunned. I actually did a before and after DEXA scan to measure my results as accurately as possible. I'm what people would have called a 'hardgainer'. I've always been thin and always had a hard time putting on muscle no matter what I tried. This book is very well organized. Don't be overwhelmed my the size of the book. It's designed to be read quickly, in parts, depending on your goals. All together, The Four Hour Body, has served as a launch pad for me to start experimenting safely and mastering my body. I couldn't be happier with Tim Ferris, the book, and my results!
