Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another.... Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand. Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions... but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together... finally become one.

Reviews There are nearly 1,000 reviews on GR for Lover At Last so I'm not going to say too much. "You always have. You've always had me....and my heart. My soul. Everything. I just wish it hadn't taken this long for me to man up." and thank goodness Qhuinn did man up! It may have taken right until the very last chapters but Qhuinn and Blaylock got their happy ending and it was so worth it. Yes, I hated that they were apart for most of the book, my heart broke for both of them due to the pain they were feeling, and I would have loved to see more of them together, but it was still was wonderful. For me this book was all about Qhuinn and Blay. Previous books had provided so much build up to their relationship, I started this book with a huge sense of anticipation and eagerness to see them both happy. The result was that most of the other characters and side stories were almost like filler and took a definite backseat to the parts I really wanted to read. Now I have had my heart satisfied and know Qhuinn and Blay will live happily ever after, I will definitely have to go back and re-read.

I love this series! I have been in love with Blay and Qhuinn since the very beginning of their story. I was just hoping that JR Ward did their story justice and didnt skimp on the romance and angst just because they were both males, but let me tell you the scenes that were incorporated into this story were HOTT!!! I was so irritated at times about how the 2 guys danced around their feeling for each other, and when Qhuinn started making his move, Blay turned him away at times...AHHHH talk about mad!! I had to shut my kindle right at that moment, because if I didnt I was going to throw it across the room in my anger! I was less interested in the side stories that were in this book, except for the ones that involved the other brothers and their mates. I found myself skimming over the side stories with Xcor and the band of bastards and the story line with Assail. I still like Trez and iAm those 2 crack me up! Overall I loved this book and thought JR Ward did Blay and Qhuinn justice, I wish she would have added a little more romance and bonding experiences with the 2 males, but overall I am very happy with the way the story unfolded!

10 books and another full 600 pages and J.R. Ward has done it again. She could have added another 600 and I would have been one happy little bee! Her writing is incredible and I think every author should be held to the same standard that she sets for herself. I loved and devoured this book...in 48 hrs. We've all been waiting for Quinn and Blay's story and Ward didn't disappoint. What I find that she does perfectly is give the raw emotion that each of these characters is feeling. You are right there with them through the pain and the happiness. It was hard to watch Quinn come to terms with his true feelings and watch Blay having to be on the other side of his uncertainty, but I'm so glad I was

along for the journey. I'm also very excited about some of the characters we're going to get more of (in the next book hopefully): Trez and Assail most notably. Two different personalities...but passionate in their own way. This book happens to be my second favorite in the series, so moving on and waiting for the next one will be torture! But, I can't wait! Bring it on J.R.
