Lover At Last Kindle Edition by J. D. Robb Click Here to Download the Book Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another.... Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand. Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions... but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together... finally become one.

Reviews Oh. My. God. What a wonderful, wonderful book. I will let you in on a little secret....I was afraid, for one brief moment, that the publisher might try to persuade J.R. into not writing Blay and Qhuinn the way she saw them together. I was worried if that happened, J.R. wouldn't write them at all. I firmly believe she has integrity like that....she wouldn't give us anything she didn't believe was her best. I also know that in the M/M world (of which I'm heavily into) that this book was projected to be a really big thing for the genre, strictly based on the fact that two of her male characters were going to get together. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that mind set. I see it as a win for anyone who believes that love is love. This world will be a better place when people learn to be accepting of everyone. If this mainstream book can do that, then J.R. has done so much more than write a #1 best seller. She will have changed peoples perspectives about love. What a wonderful thing to be able to accomplish. I just wanted to say, for those of us who have read J.R. from the beginning, this book was so much more than just an M/M coupling. We, those of us who have read these stories, have followed the relationship between Blay and Qhuinn with our hearts in our throats. Okay, maybe that's just me. Unfair of me to speak for all....but, damn...when they lost the closeness of pure friendship between them I bawled my eyes out. Yes, there were times when I wanted to gouge Saxton's eyes out, for the sole reason he was with Blay and Qhuinn was not. Unfair? Absolutely, as I really like that male. But, in my eyes Blay and Qhuinn belonged together. We knew they loved each other. They just had to be able to admit it to themselves and each other. Thank you for writing their story. I am a happy little camper.

Best. Book. Ever! I absolutely love this book. I could read it and re-read it and never get tired of it. We have seen the main characters grow from the 3rd book in the series and have learned about their feelings, and their lives. This book makes you cry, makes you laugh, makes you want to smack someone and makes you want to cuddle up with someone to share the love. Being the first gay book in the BDB series, you can tell Ward is not used to writing MM stories as the sexual scenes lack a bit of imagination, but they are not bad. Some parts were really emotional i.e. the way Blay´s parents accept him and Qhuinn unconditionally. The twist with Q´s brother was disturbing but good for him. I could do without the sidestories of Assail and the new girl or Trez and Selena, as they were quite boring. I would have rather seen POVs of John Matthew, being their best friend and all, I really missed him in the book.

More fabulous than usual, Ms Ward has done it again, this was just what we were all waiting for and she wrote it beautifully. I cannot praise this book more it was great and I read it twice straight off. Considering she is a main stream writer she had to gird herself to write an m/m novel. In the same way the 50 Shades author took a chance and wrote erotica and was accepted instantly (I haven't read it as I am not keen on d/s stories, particularly when the sub is female), nevertheless it is about time publishers stopped treating us all like children and censoring what authors are allowed to write and what we as adults are allowed to read. I am not posting any of the story, if you read BDB you don't need me to and if you don't it won't help, as you need to start from the beginning of the series to understand what is going on.
