Click Here to Download the Book ""What would you say if I told you that the secret to healthy, vigorous, and disease-free living might be as simple as knowing your blood type,"" asks Dr. Peter D'Adamo, and in Eat Right 4 Your Type, he shows us the simple answer. If you've ever suspected that not everyone should eat the same thing or do the same exercise, you're right. In fact, what foods we absorb well and how our bodies handle stress differ with each blood type. Your blood type reflects your internal chemistry. It is the key that unlocks the mysteries of disease, longevity, fitness, and emotional strength. It determines your susceptibility to illness, the foods you should eat, and ways to avoid the most troubling health problems. Only recently have all the pieces of the scientific and clinical puzzle started coming together. Dr. D'Adamo has spent the past fifteen years researching the connections among blood type, food and diseases, and his research is built on thirty years of work done by his father. In Eat Right 4 Your Type he shows: which foods, spices, teas, and condiments help someone of your blood type maintain optimal health and ideal weight; which vitamins and supplements to emphasize or avoid; which medications function best in your system; whether your stress goes to your muscles or your nervous system; whether your stress is relieved better through aerobics or meditation; whether you should walk, swim or play tennis or golf as your mode of exercise; how knowing your blood type can help you avoid many common viruses and infections; how knowing your blood type can help you fight back against life-threatening diseases; how to slow down the aging process by avoiding factors specific to your blood type that cause rapid cell deterioration. Eat Right 4 Your Type provides a clear, simple life plan that anyone can follow and suggests the easiest ways to determine your blood type. Here is a breakthrough book that will change the way we eat and live.
Reviews Here's some more anecdotal evidence in support of Dr. D'Adamo's ideas: I was a vegetarian for 5 1/2 years, basically living on granola and non-fat yogurt, so I was amazed to find that at age 22, although I wasn't at all overweight, I had borderline-high cholesterol. If you've read this book, you can guess the rest--I'm type O, and that "healthy" diet was based on exactly the wrong food for me. My doctor at the time suggested severely limiting my intake of dairy products, and voila--my cholesterol dropped 80 points in a year, to 130. Another example: a close family friend of mine, aged 50, suffered a near-heart attack and the outlook was grim. He switched to the right diet for his type, and HIS CHOLESTEROL DROPPED 60 POINTS IN ONE MONTH!!!!!! He's now in a low-risk group for cardiac disease. His doctors are amazed. Maybe they should read this book.
On Dec. 31 I consulted a new doctor for painful and debilitating fibromyalgia, expecting him to recommend physical therapy or acupuncture. I was really surprised when he recommended that I eliminate wheat from my diet, read ER4YT and try the recommendations. (By the way, he is also an O with fibromyalgia and follows this eating plan.) Before Christmas, I couldn't walk the length of the shopping mall without excruciating back spasms. Within a week of eliminating wheat, I felt myself standing up straighter, had less pain overall and much more energy. I started incorporating more of the recommended foods and eliminating more of the foods to avoid, realizing that for the last few years I've been eating lots of pasta and lentils (no-nos for Os) thinking they were healthy! Last week I walked the length of the mall and back without stopping to sit down or rest - and didn't hurt. My digestion has improved, my skin has improved, I'm sleeping better, and in four weeks I lost 7 pounds - without even trying. I'm also a singer, and my teacher is still amazed at the sudden and continuing changes in my voice. For the first time in years the resonance cavities are clear. My breath is not constricted. I realize this is something of a departure from conventional wisdom about nutrition - but it works.
As you read the pages of this book, you will begin to understand the correlation between the foods we eat and our bood type. I must agree with another reviewer, also Type A, that there are certain foods that I definitely cannot tolerate and ones which considerably lower my energy level. My body has no tolerance for orange juice, and very little tolerance for beef, pork and lamb; therefore, the mainstay of my diet includes chicken, fish, rice and vegetables, and I flourish on these. Unfortunately, I ate red meats, to some degree, for years and never realized how red meat did affect me until I ceased to eat it. The fact that others who share my blood type also experience these same commonalities, is a clear indication of the validity of this book. The book has been extremely well researched, is filled with some interesting perspectives and contains a wealth of knowledge. It is a fact of truth that we are what we eat, and this book helps explain why this is so - blood type and metabolism play a major role. By following the principles of this book and changing your eating habits on a long-term basis, based on your blood type, you may be pleasantly surprised to find you have restored energy, fewer digestive problems, better sleeping habits and an improved overall sense of well being. Don't miss this book, it is a five star plus!
