CRICKET WORLD CUP SERIES 1st Cricket World Cup – 1975 First ever ODI Cricket World Cup was played in England between 8 International Teams. England, India, East Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and West Indies participated for the first Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 15 games were played ed at 6 different venues of England. The first three events were held in England and officially known as the Prud Prudential Cup. West Indies snatched the 1st World Cup Trophy with good all round Cricket of super fast bowlers and classic batting performances performances. In Final match West Indies beat Australia by 17 runs. West Indies skipper CH Lloyd was man of the match for his extra ordinary inning of 102 runs of 85 balls.

2nd Cricket World Cup – 1979 Second ODI Cricket World Cup was also played in England between 8 International Teams. West Indies won successive world title on the back of some destructive batting and bowling. In Final match West Indies beat England by 92 runs. 3rd Cricket World Cup – 1983 Third ODI Cricket World Cup was also played in England between 8 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Zimbabwe participated for the 3rd Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 27 games were played at 15 different venues of England. Format of this world cup changed and this time each team played the others in its group twice to determine the four semi semifinalists and winner of semi finals contest will play final match. India upset West Indies in the low scoring Final match and won the match by 43 runs. Mohinder Amarnath (India) was the man of the match for his 26 runs and 3 wickets in his 7 over’s spending just 12 runs. Main attraction of this world cup was 20th match between India and Zimbabwe. 4th Cricket World Cup – 1987 Fourth ODI Cricket World Cup was played in India between 8 International Teams. The first World Cup to be held away from England was also the first to


feature neutral umpires. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and West Indies participated for the 4th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 27 games were played at 19 different venues of India. Allan Border went on to lift the world cup trophy for Australia and kick off an era of Australian domination on the field. It was a face-off off between two other old rivals England and Australia. Australia won the final by just 7 runs and lifted World Cup trophy for the first time. 5th Cricket World Cup – 1992 Fifth ODI Cricket World Cup was played in two countries Australia and New Zealand between 9 International Teams. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, West Indies and South Africa participated for the 5th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 39 games were played at 18 different venues of Australia and New Zealand. The players wore colored clothing, with names on the back. There were floodlights for most of the 36 games. The white ball - in fact two of them, one at each end. Sri Lanka revolutionized the one one-day day format with their manic hitting in the first 15 over’s,, and won the final match against Australia by 7 wickets. Arvinda de Silva was man of the match for his unbeaten 107 runs and picked picked-up up 3 wickets in his 9 over’s spending 42 runs.

Total 52 games were played at 15 different erent venues of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya. Australia under Ricky Ponting Captaincy crushes all in their path on the way and clinches their third World Cup title and second in a row. In the final match Australia with Ricky Ponting's tremendous batting registered thumping win over India by huge margins of 125 runs. England, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bermuda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Bangladesh, Canada, Kenya, Netherlands, Ne Scotland and Ireland participated for the 9th Cricket World Cup tournament. Total 51 games were played at 8 different venues of West Indies. This was the first World Cup to feature Power plays. Australia won World Cup title three in a row (Hat (Hat-trick) in the West Indies, in an overlong tournament marred by mismanagement and tragedy. Total 49 games were played at 13 different venues of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The best World Cup of all time resulted in favor of India. Indian skipper MS Dhoni played a masterful captain's innings to steer his side to World Cup success cess after long intervals’ of 28 years. ICC World Cup 2015 - Australia and New Zealand ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will be the eleventh Cricket World Cup and this world cup will be hosted by Australia and New Zealand. The all time rival Australia and New Zealand get the honor to jointly host the 2015 Cricket World Cup. For the second time, these two countries will host the biggest Cricketing Event ‘ICC Cricket World Cup'. Previously, 1992 Cricket World Cup was successfully hosted by Australia and New Zealand and Pakistan become the World Champions for the first time.


Australia won the ICC Cricket World Cup maximum time. but they never won the cup in their own soil. This will be the great chance for Team Australia to clinch the Cricket World Cup in their home soil. New Zealand, never won cricket world cup and this will be a great chance for them to won this cup.
