If you are interested in sport and exercise and want to make a career out of it then Wintec’s Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science is aimed at you. You will learn a range of subjects designed to develop well-rounded practitioners of applied sport and exercise science. This includes physical education, coaching, exercise physiology, sport nutrition, sport psychology, biomechanics, sport rehabilitation and personal training. The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science may lead to employment in a wide range of areas within the sport science, health and fitness, and education sectors including local and regional sports organisations, health and fitness centres, community health, personal and team fitness training, and P.E. teaching.

A minimum of 42 credits at NCEA Level 3 from the NZQA approved subject list including a minimum of 14 credits in each of two subjects, and a further 14 credits from no more than two additional subjects, or A minimum of 60 credits at NCEA Level 2 in four subjects (15 credits per subject) with English and a Science subject or Physical Education recommended, or Wintec Certificate in Sport and Recreation (Level 4), or Equivalent qualification
In addition to the listed criteria, candidates are required to have gained a minimum of 14 credits at Level 1 or higher in Mathematics / Pangarau on the National Qualifications Framework, and a minimum of 8 credits at Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo Ma-ori (of which 4 credits must be in Reading and 4

Special admission may be granted to applicants aged 20 years or above who do not meet standard admission requirements but whose previous life and work experience indicates they may have a reasonable chance of success in the programme.
