This programme is designed to provide you with the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills required for planning, organising, implementing and evaluating events. You can take this graduate diploma with you all over the world as you will learn skills applicable to both the domestic and international market. proGRAMME Content This programme incorporates event planning, operations and logistics, marketing, sponsorship, protocol, finance, teamwork and people management. You will also complete an event workshop and practicum. You are able to exit with the Graduate Certificate in Event Management on completion of the first four compulsory modules. entry criteria

Study may also occur at Wintec’s Avalon Campus at the Centre for Hospitality. The state-of-theart facilities includes two large commercial kitchens, a production kitchen, a restaurant with a seating capacity for 80, featuring indoor and outdoor dining, and a licensed bar. Small class sizes, a tutorial team with varied national and international industry experience, and close association with local industry and professional industry bodies, allow you to get the most out of your studies. Work based learning opportunities will be provided for internal and external events providing learners with opportunities to apply their learning and working with events professionals. Waikato Events such as the Hamilton 400 (the V8 supercar series), Balloons Over Waikato and the National Fieldays at Mystery Creek are amongst some of the key events that you may have an opportunity to be involved in. Work based learning opportunities will also no doubt arise with the hosting of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
