Wintec 2012 Student Parking Protocol - City 1 Student Parking Area Students may only park in the area designated for student parking. (See Paragraph 3a and map on reverse side) Students may not park in the designated staff parking areas from Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm. This restriction also applies to parking spaces designated ‘reserved, ‘visitor’, ‘courier’, ‘disability’, ‘Kaumatua’, ‘doctor’, ‘loading zone’ and other designated spaces”. Students who park on ‘Campus’ in breach of this protocol are liable to be fined, towed or clamped without warning and could incur a substantial fee for the return of their vehicle. ‘Campus’ includes the whole area bound by Tristram, Collingwood, Ward and Angelsea Streets (refer to map) including parking areas in Nisbet Street (W Block). Parking in all these areas is only available to staff and visitors only. 2 Student Parking Permits All vehicles parked in the student car park must display a student parking permit. The permit must be displayed in the lower left hand corner (passenger side, above vehicle registration) of the windscreen. Students are eligible for one free student parking permit annually. Permits are available from the Enrolment Centre in A block on production of a student ID or evidence of enrolment. Failure to display a Student Parking Permit may result in the vehicle being fined, towed or clamped without warning at the owner’s expense. As 2012 parking permits are adhered to the windscreen, some students may require an additional permit for a second vehicle. A fee of $5.00 will be levied for an additional permit. However, in this circumstance, students will only be authorized to have one of these vehicles on campus at any one time. 3 Student Full Day Parking Tristram/Collingwood Street Parking The parking area on the corner of Tristram and Collingwood Streets is reserved for students only. Tickets for this area can be purchased from the pay and display machines located in the car park at a cost of 60 cents an hour with a maximum cost of $5.00 per day. (Refer map) Ward Street Parking The small student car park on Ward Street (beside W5 Block-aka. The Emporium) is reserved for students only. Tickets for this area can be purchased from the pay and display machines located in the car park at a cost of 60 cents an hour with a maximum cost of $5.00 per day. (Refer map) 4 Pay and Display All vehicles in the student car park must display a current pay & display receipt that is clearly visible. The displayed registration on the receipt must match the vehicle it is displayed on. Only one ticket is to be displayed at any one time. The receipt displays a purchase time and expiry time. Failure to correctly display the current valid receipt or displaying an expired receipt may result in the vehicle being fined, towed or clamped without warning at the owner’s expense. 5 Lost and Stolen Permits These will be replaced at the Enrolment Centre. A charge of $5.00 will be levied for replacement permits. This charge will not be levied on production of evidence that the loss or theft has been reported to the police. 6 Parking Infringements Vehicles parked in access lanes, blocking other vehicles, parked on yellow lines or other inconsiderate parking may be fined, towed or clamped without warning at the owner’s expense.
PARK ONLY IN WHITE DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS. 7 Fined/Towed/Clamped Vehicles Parking enforcement will be carried out by Parking Enforcement Solutions. Vehicles in breach of the Wintec parking rules may be issued with a parking infringement notice. Payment or a letter of explanation to the Wintec Security Systems Coordinator is required within 21 days. Failure to pay the infringement within the allotted time will result in the notice being passed to a debt collection agency for cost recovery, and could affect your credit rating. Towed vehicles can be collected from Active Towing’s storage yard at 116 Norton Road, phone 846 7196. Payment of the tow fee must be made before the vehicle will be released. Clamped vehicles can be released by contacting the clamping staff on site or contacting Wintec Security.
