These regulations should be read in conjunction with Wintec’s Academic Regulations, Clause 2 General Programme Regulations. 1.
Admission and Entry 1.1 Candidates are required to have: • 14 credits at NCEA Level 3 in each of three subjects or equivalent, or • 48 credits at NCEA Level 2 across four subjects (including English and/or Mathematics, Practical Art, Technology or Design)or equivalent, or • Successfully completed the Certificate in Media Arts programme, or equivalent. 1.2 Candidates who do not meet the above entry requirements may nevertheless be considered for provisional entry (if aged under 20, or special admission (if aged 20 years or over) Consult the General Programme Regulations 2.4.5 and 2.3.8 respectively. In such cases entry will be dependent on whether candidates demonstrate a reasonable likelihood of success in the programme. 1.3 Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test Score (IELTS) of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in the written band. 1.4 Candidates will also be required to: • submit a portfolio of work as specified in the application brochure, and • participate in an interview
Formal and Informal Transfer of Credit Formal and informal transfer of credit is available for this programme.
Transition Arrangements 3.1 Students who successfully complete Year 1 of the current FT0001 Diploma of Technology (Interior Design) (Level 6) will be eligible to enrol in Year 2 of the new Diploma in Interior Design (Level 6) in 2011. 3.2 Students who have completed individual modules from the Diploma of Technology (Interior Design) (Level 6) will be eligible for transfer of credit for modules completed towards the new Diploma in Technology (Level 6) in 2011.
Programme Requirements 4.1 Every candidate for the Diploma in Interior Design (Level 6) shall, to the satisfaction of the Academic Board, follow a programme of study for a period of normally not less than two years. 4.2 Each candidate’s programme of study shall comprise all the modules listed in Section 8 totalling 240 credits. 4.3 Candidates are required to attend a minimum of 85% of the total teaching hours for each module of the programme.

Completion of the Programme Candidates may take up to four years to complete this programme but an extension may be granted by special permission of the Head of School/Centre Director.
Assessment This programme uses mixed mode assessment therefore aegrotat consideration will be available only for the achievement based components of the modules.
Award of the Qualification Candidates who successfully complete the requirements in clause 4.2 and 4.3 of these regulations will receive the award of the Diploma in Interior Design (Level 6).
