Diploma in Information and Communications Technology (Level 5), or Equivalent qualification, or Experience in the computing industry considered equivalent

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION PROGRAMME CONTENT A one-year full-time programme where you can specialise in one of the following three areas: Programming This involves developing, testing and maintaining computer programmes. Systems Support and Administration This involves providing users with hardware, software and network support. Technician This involves the installation and maintenance of computers, office equipment, data communications and telecommunications networks. In particular, it focuses on the technical skills needed to maintain and install information systems and networks.

You will study at Wintec’s School of Information Technology which is located at Wintec’s main campus in Hamilton City. You will experience small class sizes and one-on-one contact with the experienced tutors. You will also have access to a range of specialist facilities including networking, electronics and computing laboratories. The School consults directly with many commercial and industrial organisations to ensure all programmes provide you with the appropriate skills and knowledge required for a career in the IT industry. SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS Want to experience IT for a day? Talk to your STAR Coordinator or Careers Advisor and do a two day Wintec Taster in Interactive Multimedia Technologies.

The Diploma in Information and Communications Technology (Level 6) programme requires the successful completion of 126 credits.
