Are you after a relevant civil engineering qualification? Wintec’s New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Civil) (Level 6) is a qualification that has been developed in close consultation with industry (your future employers!) This means that the programme is designed to provide you with the civil engineering knowledge and skills required to meet the needs of industry. This two year programme will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge for working in the design and construction of engineering works, such as roads, bridges, water supply plants, drains, harbour and marine works, sewage disposal facilities and other structures. PROGRAMME CONTENT There are 13 compulsory modules that you must complete over the two year programme, these are:

Additionally, there is a mixture of elective modules that you can choose to study. You will be able to discuss this choice with the Programme Manager as these will depend on the pathway that you choose to take.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES The New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Civil) (Level 6) may lead to employment as a Consulting Engineer, Construction Contractor or in the oil and mining industries and local and regional authorities. You may also continue onto further study at degree level. ENTRY CRITERIA
48 NCEA credits at Level 2 in your best four subjects, including Maths, Graphics and a Science related subject, or equivalent, or Sixth Form Certificate with 20 points or less in your best four subjects including at least one Science related subject, or equivalent
Candidates who do not meet the specified entry requirements may be considered for provisional entry (if aged under 20). These candidates may be required to demonstrate an ability to successfully complete the programme through an interview. Special admission may be granted to candidates aged 20 years or over who do not meet the specified entry requirements. These candidates may be required to demonstrate an ability to successfully complete the programme through a process of an interview and / or assessment. Applicants whose first language is neither English nor Ma-ori may be interviewed to assess their level of English competency, or are required to have an IELTS score of 6.0 or better in the academic bands.
