There is open entry to this programme, although it is recommended that candidates have a minimum of 10 credits at level 1 or above in English, or equivalent. Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test Score (IELTS) of 5.5, with a minimum of 5.0 in the written band.

Programme Requirements 2.1

Every candidate for the Short Course in Electrical Service Technician A shall to the satisfaction of the Academic Board follow a programme of study for a period of normally not less than five weeks full-time study or one year of part-time study.

2.2

Each candidate’s programme of study shall comprise the compulsory modules as listed in section 6 of these regulations, totalling13 credits.

Completion of the Programme A candidate may take up to one year to complete this programme, unless an extension is granted by special permission of the Head of School/Centre Director.

Assessment Assessment in this programme is competency based; therefore aegrotat consideration is not available.

5.

Award of Qualification Candidates who successfully complete the requirements in sections 2.1 and 2.2 of these regulations will receive the award of the Short Course in Electrical Service Technician A.
