In order to create the best reproduction possible with a newspaper press, we need your help and cooperation. Here are a few guidelines that will help you get better response from your ads and keep rework to a minimum. •Camera-ready ads are used “as is.” We cannot make corrections to size, content or body copy. All changes should be made before submitting the disk to us. The ad is imported directly to the page layout. •All fonts should be embedded in every .eps or .pdf file. •Include all fonts as a backup (in case embedding does not work properly) and a printed sample in case we have to substitute. •All colors must be converted to CMYK. Additional colors do not reproduce properly because we must convert files to CMYK. If we convert files to CMYK, we cannot guarantee converted output will match additional colors that are designated. PDF files with more than 4 color plates (CMYK) cannot be used. •Please do not flatten files when saving. This causes a dot screen pattern to appear in text. •We can pick up PDF and EPS files and insert them into their spaces on the news pages relatively quickly, but we cannot make changes to them because of the nature of the files. •Separate image files used in an ad should be included with the .eps or .pdf file on the disk submitted to The Wilson Times as backup. •We can accept files on compact disks. We are also set up to receive AdSend, and can receive ads via e-mail and FTP sites. •When artwork is submitted (including logos), it should be a “clean” original. Copied or preprinted art with an existing dot-screen does not reproduce well. Likewise, faxes, yellow page cutouts, business cards, and letterheads don’t always reproduce sharply. The Wilson Times adheres to any copyright or trademark infringement laws that apply to printed images.

IN A M A C FO R M AT: If you save in a Mac format, please use only .tif or .pdf formats. Please make sure all fonts are embedded and/ or text is exported to curves (if that option is available). This will alleviate most font problems. The following Mac software is available for use by our designers: •Multi-Ad Creator, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign, Word for MAC (text only). IN A PC FO R M AT: Please provide PDF files that include all fonts embedded and with preview option enabled. If you have any questions about creating and subm itting your ad,please contact your advertising representative.

W ilson,one of North Carolina’s most

beautiful cities, is a great place to raise a family or grow a company. We are a community committed to educational excellence, economic prosperity and cultural fulfillment. Residents and companies in Wilson enjoy the advantages of proximity to the Raleigh-Durham metro area, as well as living close to towns such as Rocky Mount and Greenville, North Carolina. North Carolina’s beaches are within a short driving distance and I-95 easily connects businesses to their marketplaces on the East Coast. Wilson is an All-America City. It is a title that comes naturally to a community that places high value on neighborliness and helping people settle into our community. Wilson has a roster of companies that contribute to our economic prosperity. They include the city’s largest employer BB&T, with headquarters in Wilson for operations, mortgage and revolving credit departments employing 2,500 people; Bridgestone/Firestone with more than 2,000 employees; Merck, Sandoz and Purdue pharmaceutical production facilities; and Kidde Aerospace. Still other companies specialize in automotive parts, building materials, food manufacturing and plastics. All share an enthusiasm for the Wilson pro business environment that includes: • Nearby I-95, ports and airports that connect Wilson to the world. • A highly productive workforce, backed by specialized training and instructional programs at Wilson Community College. • Local governments that understand the importance of investing in the fundamental services employers need. Two examples include a 500-acre corporate park adjacent to I-95 and newly expanded city reservoir with a seven billion gallon capacity. • A strong base of businesses providing products and support services. Wilson has made a successful transition from an agricultural dominated economy; however, agribusiness still remains an important income producer. In recent years, Wilson has significantly expanded its retail base. No matter what type of business, Wilson has a strong track record for being a location where companies can grow and prosper.
