LOVE SPEAKS: Love doesn’t do what is best for the short term but rather focuses on the long term. It keeps in mind the desired goal and sets priorities that will help reach that goal. Ultimately God has called us to join him in the mansion of heaven when our time on this earth is over. Our worship and Bible study next weekend will remind us that as we consider our calling in Christ our Love Speaks with Focused Heart. God is glorified as our love speaks, focusing not on earthly riches but on his glory.

UNITED WAY The 2013-2014 United Way campaign and other corporate workplace giving programs begin this month in most communities. Many communities have a donor choice program in which you may designate a qualified 501(c)(3) agency to receive your donation. Last year Wisconsin Lutheran Child & Family Service received gifts from over 45 different United Way agencies and workplace giving programs that allow a donor choice option throughout the United States as a qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit social service agency. If you have questions about your participation in such a program, check your local United Way or employer’s guidelines, or call Jeff at WLCFS toll free at 1-888-685-9522 or e-mail email@example.com.
