- We still have some openings on the sign–up sheet! October is our congregation’s month to staff the Waterloo/Marshall Community Food Pantry. The sign-up sheet is located on the table in the church narthex. We need help on Wed. evenings and Sat. mornings. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Wilsmann, Les Schoemann, or Diana Michi. - You can pick up your October monthly newsletter located on the table in the narthex. - Your third quarter contribution statements are ready to be picked up. They are located on the table in the church narthex. - The local chapter of the Rock River Owls will meet here at St. John Lutheran Church on Tuesday, Oct. 15th, at 1:30 PM. Guest speaker Carol Gronholz will present her trip to Africa where she helped with the Malawi mission's outreach, "Christmas for Kids." Refreshments will follow. The Organization of WELS Seniors (OWLS) provides meaningful activity for people retired and/or 50 years old. Here is a wonderful opportunity for seniors who want to grow spiritually and enjoy the fellowship of neighboring WELS and ELS members. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. - This Thursday, October 17th, we will have our fall social event for all Bible Class attendees and all prospective Bible Class members. Participants in any Bible Class (Sunday, Women's, Wednesday Breakfast, and Thursday evening) along with their spouses are welcome as well as those thinking of joining a class. Our hostess will be Elsbeth Fuchs. We will eat at 6:00 p.m. Elsbeth will be providing grilled hot dogs and brats. Some Bible Class members have already volunteered to make side dishes. You may bring something also if you desire, but that is not necessary. You are asked to bring your own beverages and lawn/camping chairs. The event will be held at the Fuchs farm rain or shine. If it rains we will eat and fellowship in a couple of the garages and out buildings on the farm. If the weather permits, we are making arrangements to have two fire pits around so you can enjoy the mid October evening. Come and join us! - Thanksgiving cards and napkins are now available in the church narthex. Also, check out the church library for birthday, sympathy, and special occasion cards and napkins that are available for purchase.  LWMS: will meet on Tues., October 15, at the home of Ruth Homan.

Pull out those dusty musical instruments and limber up those lips! St. John's Worship Committee is looking for any and all musicians willing to use their God-given musical talents in our church's Reformation celebration on Sunday, Nov. 3rd. A tentative practice date will be Saturday, Nov. 2nd. It will be lots of fun and a wonderful way to glorify God! If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Pufahl and she will get you the music: or 920-960-0304.

 THANK YOU: A huge thank you to everyone who has dropped off

foam egg cartons and plastic jars. It is greatly appreciated. We have collected enough cartons and jars for our projects, BUT, now we are in need of some muffin tins. They need to be tins that hold 12 muffins. They are for holding paint, so they don’t need to be brand new. If you’re cleaning your cupboards or shopping at Twice Is Nice, please consider donating. Please drop them off in the office and thank you for your support!
