Any child who will be 5 years old by September 1, 2014 and entering kindergarten is invited to spend the morning visiting our kindergarten room and meeting the class and the teacher, Mrs. Linda Schwartz. The children and their parents are invited to lunch in our cafeteria at 11:00 AM followed by a parent informational meeting at 11:30 AM. This invitation extends to those families who have children in Kindergarten through seventh grade and who currently do not send their children to our day school. This Open House will be a time in which parents can visit any of our classrooms throughout the day and observe the faculty, students, and staff, during a regular school day. Tuition for both members and non-members for 2013 2014 was $865 for the first child and $665 for the second child. There is no additional tuition charge for families who have more than two children. There is also a $250 Education Fee (books and tech) per student for all students. Tuition and Education Fee costs for 2014-2015 will be set in May of 2014. The program will feature WELS author Karen Hasley giving a presentation entitled “Women of Substance and Courage: Lessons from the Lives of Three Women of American History”. The presentation features real-life women who are featured in Ms. Hasley’s novels, which will be available for purchase at the conference. In the afternoon we will see a presentation from Kathie Wendland, encouraging us in our ministries through our libraries. SAVE THE DATE: On Sunday, April 6th, Missionary Philip Strackbein (husband of our former member Kathy Buss) will be here at St. John to share with us his new book God’s Protecting Hand: A Missionary’s Personal Journey. In his book, Missionary Strackbein takes us along on the personal journey of his life to see and experience how God has protected him and his family. They have lived far away from family and friends and often in less-than-safe areas of the world. There will be a book signing between services. However, books must be purchased prior to the book signing. If you would like to purchase his book, the cost is $14.99 and a sign up book is located on the information table. We must order the books by March 27th in order for them to be here in time. You may also purchase an eBook for $3.99 and download immediately. WATERTOWN WELLNESS EXPO: Living, Learning and Laughing in Adulthood will be held on Saturday, March 29th, from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Bethesda, 700 Hoffman Road in Watertown. With engaging sessions, tradeshow floor, live demonstrations, free giveaways and more - you won’t want to miss this exciting expo! TLC LOCK-IN: The TLC Youth Group will be meeting on April 11th for a “Lock-In” at St. John in the gym from 9pm until 7am. This is open to all 8th-12th grade students and friends. To keep everyone wide awake, the night will be jam-packed with activities including laser tag, bowling at Stubby’s, games in the gym, and a movie screening complete with popcorn. The evening will also include plenty of food and drink. A permission form needs to be completed by both a parent/guardian and the teen. Permission forms are located on the TLC bulletin board at church. FINE ARTS FAIR AND CONCERT: On April 5th, students from St. John will be participating in the Fine Arts Fair hosted by Lakeside Lutheran. The Fine Arts Fair Concert is on Sunday, April 6th, at 1:30 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend.

LIVE BURIAL TOMB: St. John is looking for two person teams to act as Roman guards during our church’s first live presentation of Jesus’ burial tomb. Each team will stand guard in front of the tomb for a three hour shift. We would like to start the first shift at 3 PM on Good Friday, April 18, and continue through the weekend until 6 AM Easter morning when at that time, the guards will be replaced by an Angel. Guard uniforms will be provided! If you are able to volunteer for one shift or as many as you’d like, a sign-up sheet is located on the information table in the church narthex or please contact the office at 920-4782707 as soon as possible.
