This month's topic will take us in spirit to the former Soviet Republic of Ukraine in southeastern Europe where Lutherans still struggle for their faith. A student from Ukraine, Vova Kustlyvy, now attending Luther Prep, will tell about life back home. Refreshments follow. The next February 18th meeting will be at St Paul's in Ft. Atkinson. The rescheduled call meeting at Lakeside Lutheran High School is Monday, January 27th, at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of this call meeting is to issue a call for a Guidance Director. This is the same evening as the "Planning for the Future" seminar with Pastor Elton Stroh. All General Board members were earlier invited to attend this meeting. The call meeting will begin at 6:00, and the meeting with Pastor Stroh will follow at 6:30 p.m. An email will be sent to all General Board members at a later date giving the meeting location within the school.
ATTENTION FUTURE HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMEN: Future Freshmen Course Scheduling is scheduled at Lakeside Lutheran High School on Wed., January 22, 6:30 p.m., and again on Saturday, January 25, at 8:30 a.m. The sessions are identical, and families may choose the session that is most convenient for them. This event is held in Lakeside's West Gym. Each session begins with a greeting and brief presentation on signing up for freshmen courses. The financial aid process will also be explained. After this, every family - parents and student together - meet with a Lakeside teacher to develop a course schedule. While waiting to meet with a teacher or after signing up for classes, families are encouraged to visit the displays that feature Lakeside's many co-curricular activities. Most families will finish in 30-40 minutes. Based on last year's course scheduling, the maximum time needed was 60 minutes. There is no cost at this time to sign up for classes at Lakeside. Even if a family is uncertain on whether its student will enroll at Lakeside, it is encouraged to come to Lakeside for Future Freshmen Course Scheduling and create a tentative freshman schedule. For further information on Future Freshmen Course Scheduling, call Lakeside at 920-648-2321 and ask for the Guidance Office.
