The December monthly church and school newsletters are available for pick up. They are located on the information table in the narthex.

The retiree dinner will be held this Tuesday, December 10th, at 12:30 AM in the school cafeteria. Roast Beef will be served. The cost is $4.00. The Christmas concert will follow, beginning at 1:30 PM.

St. John’s Christmas concert will be held this Tuesday, Dec. 10th. The dress rehearsal concert will be at 1:30 PM. (Please note the new time.) Performing in the concerts will be the Junior Choir, Wildcat band, the recorders class, and Mrs. Pufahl’s piano students. The evening concert will begin at 6:30 PM. The Parent/ Teacher Organization (PTO) will furnish refreshments following the 6:30 PM concert.

This is just a reminder that the Dorcas Society will be boxing their Christmas cookies today for our shut-ins. You may drop off your two dozen cookies in the church library before 10:30 AM.

This is just a reminder that the date for the Dorcas Christmas party at the Capri restaurant in Columbus has been changed to Sunday, Dec. 15th. Dining will begin at 2:00 PM. Please RSVP to Marge Schoenherr at 920-478-3418 as soon as possible.

The annual Waterloo Holiday parade will be held on Saturday, Dec.,14th, at 4:30 PM. St. John will have a float in the parade and we are currently looking for individuals to sing some Christmas carols. Following the parade, there will be a “Meet and Greet” held at the VFW. They have asked us to sing some of our carols there. If you are able to join us that day, please contact Mrs. Duwe by email or you may call her at 920-342-3062. You may also call the office at 478-2707 ASAP. We will meet at school at 3:45 PM.

SCHOOL CALENDAR: The December school calendar is available in the tract rack in the church narthex.

BAGS NEEDED: Twice Is Nice is looking for plastic bags to use for customer’s purchases. If you have any extra bags, please put them in the donation bin at church or you may drop them off in the office.

FORMER TEACHER MARILY KRUEGER: We were notified by Marily Krueger's daughter, Lisa, with the news that her mother (and a former long-time teacher here at St. John) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last week. Further tests are being done, but it seems that there is only a 5% chance that it is something less serious than pancreatic cancer. Both Marily and Gerry would appreciate, your prayers cards and well wishes. We know that Marily would especially appreciate hearing from her former students. BLOOD DRIVE: On Friday, December 20th, St. John will be hosting a blood drive. Our coordinator is Jennifer Cook. If you are able to help in any way such as baking, serving, set-up, clean-up, man the registration table, etc., there are sign up sheets located on the information table or you may give Jennifer a call at 920-988-9781 and let her know as soon as possible.


- Today’s bulletins were donated by the Bartz family in memory of Lt. Paul Bartz’s 47th birthday on December 8th. - Today’s altar flowers were received from Harland & Delight Walker in celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary on December 9th. - Marilyn Schultz memorials were received and specified for church and senior choir music. - A memorial was received for Mrs. Orabelle Jaeger from Lillian Riege and designated for the church lighting. Thanks for these gifts.

SCRIP: Scrip has announced they have a limited run of small denomination gift cards from some of your favorite retailers! They will only be available while supplies last. These plastic gift cards are as follows: $10 gift card, $5 Pizza Hut, $5 Barnes & Noble, $10 Target, $5 Panera Bread and $10 Walmart. CAMP PHILLIP: There will be a Free Will Offering for Camp Phillip in church next Sunday, December 15th. Our congregation is a member of Camp Phillip, Inc. and any member of our congregation, who attends a Camp Phillip program, will receive a 10% discount. Our 7th & 8th grade class participates in numerous activities at Camp Phillip each year as part of a field trip. Camp Phillip provides devotions, bible studies, and outdoor activities such as disc golf, swimming, fishing, campfires, sing-alongs, hiking, and ropes courses for youth, adults, families, churches and schools. - Luther Prep will be holding their Christmas concert on Dec. 15th at 3:00 PM and on December 19th at 10:00 AM. - Lakeside Lutheran will be holding their Christmas concert on December 15th at 7:00 PM.

LAKESIDE LADIES GUILD: The Lakeside Ladies Guild will meet on Tues., December 10, 2013, at 7p.m. Hostesses for the evening are St. James, Cambridge and Bethany, Fort Atkinson. The Lakeside Swing choir, under the direction of Mr. James Buege, will entertain. This is a special meeting since it is the final gathering of the Guild members at which a special collection will be taken to provide a lasting gift to Lakeside in honor of the 56 years the Guild served Lakeside. Thank you all for the willingness of your congregation to include our announcements of the meetings in your monthly newsletters and church bulletins.
