Security and Safety Building Security At the main entrance of Glynnwood, the automatic ground floor doors are locked at night. To gain entrance, press the doorbell and the night staff will let you in.

Fire Procedures Glynnwood is safely equipped with smoke detectors, sprinklers, fire alarm pull- stations, fire extinguishers, fire doors and fire walls and a voice communication system. Please read the fire instruction sheet provided with this booklet and carefully review the instructions from time to time. We strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with the location of the closest fire exits and pull-station to your suite. Glynnwood conducts regular monthly fire drills to monitor the response from our employees and to ensure proper functioning of all alarm systems.

Fire Alarm System The fire alarm system is automatically activated by pulling a Pull Station. When the alarm sounds, the Fire Department is notified by a monitoring service. As you can see we are well protected. However, in the event of a fire, we all must be sure not to panic and remember to follow safe fire procedures as outlined on the back of your suite entrance door. Please notify the Director of Environmental Services if you require assistance to review this important information.

Smoke Alarms Your suite is equipped with a smoke alarm, which if activated, registers at the Reception Desk & Nurse Phones. It does not set off the fire alarm system, except on 3rd floor. Smoke alarms on the Service Plus floor will set off the alarm system. If your smoke alarm sounds, a staff person will call your suite immediately to determine the situation.

Fire Doors Fire doors act as smoke and fire barriers and are located on all floors. Fire doors automatically close when the fire alarm sounds. The closure of the fire doors creates Fire Zones. If an area must be evacuated, move toward an Exit behind the Fire Doors. Resident & Guest Services Directory

25

Please stay clear of the fire doors during a fire drill or whenever the fire alarm is activated.

If You Hear The Fire Alarm: Please refer to the instructions on the back of your suite door. If You Hear The Fire Alarm: 1.
