So Close....! The Year 7 Football Final Huge congratulations to the squad for performing to an extremely high standard in the final of the Solihull Schools’ Cup on Tuesday 1 April! Playing away at Park Hall School against Park Hall was rather daunting and some slick play by them meant that we were 3-0 down. However, an inspired half-time talk seemed to do the trick and possession and territory were about equal. A superb free kick from Josh Andrews 30 yards out, crashed off the underside of the crossbar and bounced away from the goalkeeper. A very alert Jack DawsonSullivan rushed in and scored the goal from 1 yard out with his chest! Although Park Hall did score another, the squad should be exceptionally proud of themselves, as are their managers! Mr McCallum and Mr Cox, PE Department Congratulations Matthew! Congratulations to Matthew Spain of 9E, who was recently selected to be part of an inclusive representative team from Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire to compete in the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire School Games Table Tennis finals. The team will be competing against the top teams from the county. Matthew is one of just 8 students selected to be in the team. Book of the Week The Book of the Week for the week beginning Monday 28 April 2014 is: Rock War by Robert Muchamore Meet Jay, Summer and Dylan: Jay plays guitar, writes songs and dreams of being a rock star. But his ambitions are stifled by seven siblings and a terrible drummer. Summer works hard at school, looks after her Nan and has a one-in-a-million singing voice. But can her talent triumph over her nerves? Dylan is happiest lying on his bunk smoking, but his school rugby coach has other ideas, and Dylan reluctantly joins a band to avoid crunching tackles and icy mud. They're about to enter the biggest battle of their lives. And there's everything to play for…!
