Friday 7 February 2014 Langley School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Dear Parents and Care Givers Forgotten to top up dinner money? No need to go hungry! Students are able to get a temporary ‘overdraft’ on their lunch accounts if there is insufficient money. They need to see the Catering Manager at 1.00pm to collect an authorisation slip, have this signed by their Head of Year or a senior member of staff and then hand it back to the catering staff, who will allow them to buy food. Any debts should be cleared as soon as possible please, via Parentpay. Procedures for leave of absence: If students need to leave school during the day to attend medical appointments, they should collect a yellow ‘Leave of Absence’ slip from the main office and get this signed by their Head of Year. This can be used as authorisation to leave lessons early if necessary. When students are leaving, they should bring the slip to the main office where it will be exchanged for an official ‘Authorised Absence Pass’. Students can wait in the main reception area until you arrive to collect them. Please remind them that they need to sign back in when they return. If students are not expected in school before an appointment, please let the school know in advance by telephone, e-mail or letter. Again, please remind them to sign in at the main reception when they arrive at school. For absences of one day or more, parents or care givers need to complete and return a Holiday Request Form, available from the main office.
