Friday 4 October 2013 Langley School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all its staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Dear Parents and Care Givers Health & Safety To and From School With the onset of the darker evenings, we wish to raise awareness in students that their personal safety is important. If attending an After-School Club, please encourage your child to walk home with others and if he/she needs to use a mobile phone, consider when it is safe to do so and put it away afterwards. Mr Evans, Deputy Headteacher PTA “Get Involved” At Langley we have a very active team who support the school with a variety of activities. Following our recent AGM we have outlined key events/activities that we will be running this year. We are always looking for new members! Parents’ Evening Coffee Shop We appreciate these can be long evenings – our coffee shop will sell a range of drinks, cakes and snacks and provide an opportunity to take a breather and socialise with others. “The Giving Machine” For no additional cost but by merely using the website for every purchase made to major internet shopping sites such as Amazon, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, John Lewis and many more the school will receive commission. This website will shortly have a direct link from our website and every time you use it the PTA receives funds - at no cost to you. These funds will then be directly used to benefit students in the school. PTA Xmas Raffle We will be asking ALL students/parents to support this event by selling the tickets sent home in November. High quality prices will be sought and incentives for students to get involved will be publicised at a later date. Pampering Evening We are going to have a Pamper / Prom evening on Thursday 6th March 2014. Local companies will have samples of prom dresses, suit and car hire. Make up, skin care, handbags, jewellery and other accessories. In addition to this we are in negotiations with a major local band to perform at a social evening and further events will follow. If you wish to join our sociable/successful team please contact Sara Moseley on 07976440109 or telephone school and speak to Mr Evans, Deputy Headteacher. HPV jabs Year 8 girls will be having their first HPV jab next Wednesday 9 October 2013. Please ensure that they have breakfast and wear a short sleeved blouse if possible. Any queries please ring Mrs Kehoe on 0121-706 9771, X 217.
