Dear Parents and Care Givers Arrangements for End of Term – Friday 23rd July We would like to give you advance notice that school will finish at 12.35pm on the last day of term, Friday 23rd July. Anyone wishing to pre-order a lunch may do so the day before, via the kitchen staff. A full range of refreshments will be available for all students at break-time on Friday 23rd July. We will, of course, offer supervision for any students who need to stay in school until 3.05pm. Funky Friday Summer Fête Reminder – Friday 16th July – fun for all the family! As a climax to this year’s Funky Friday activities and as part of the Ethical Enterprise module, the Year 7 students are organising a Funky Friday Summer Fête, to be held at Langley School on Friday 16th July between 3.15 – 5.30pm. There will be a wide range of stalls, prizes to be won and food to be eaten, including a tea/coffee shop for the more sophisticated amongst you. Entrance is free of charge! If the weather is fair, the majority of the activities will take place on the front field, with others on the playground next to the theatre entrance, which is where the café will be situated. All proceeds from the fête, and from the other businesses that have been running this term, will be going to the charity ‘Educaid’. Youth Opportunities Fund We are delighted to have just received 3 brand new outdoor basketball backboards, hoops and nets. This was as a result of a successful bid made to the Youth Opportunity Fund which was written by Joseph Taylor, Anna Weir and Hannah McArthur. Happy shooting! Aachen / Germany trip – December 2010 All pupils going to Germany in December must have their own individual passport and European Health Card [details available in Post Office / Internet]. Please remember that the balance of £200 is due on Friday 3 September – thank you to all who have already paid. More details will follow in September. “Danke!” Mrs Chaudhri, MFL Faculty

Science If anyone has any stuffed or dried animals they could donate to the Science Faculty, please see Mrs Watton. They will be used for animal classification lessons. Please could all students in Years 7, 8 and 9 return their Science Homework textbooks as soon as possible via your Science teachers. Thank you. Mrs Watton, Science Faculty Academic Mentoring We have been extremely pleased with the way this new system has run this year and have appreciated the support from other students and parents to enable it to take place. Many students have reported it as a positive and beneficial experience and we hope that Year 7 students will report equally encouraging feedback. Thank you!
