ART portfolio 2012-2013 Artist Info
William Moore wears hats as an illustrator, graphic designer, concept artist, and digital painter. Endlessly attempting to integrate the different ďŹ elds, he sees himself on the ďŹ ne line between the ďŹ ne arts world and the digital art world. Coming from a Fine Arts concentration and moving towards a graphic design concentration at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, he takes his training and utilizes it to compose pieces with current technology. The only thing he loves more than his craft are epic mech and spaceship wars in distant galaxies. And maybe a double shot espresso.

time mgmt. To obtain an impression of my work flow and time management for completed pieces, the following work shown serves as a foundation for what will become full fledged illustrations. These include: a sketched line art, a value study, a color study, and a rendered color study.
value studies appx. time 30 min - 1 1/2 hours For the importance of maximizing time management value studies are taken to a level of finish to execute enough study in a short amount of time.

graphic design Most graphic design work is produced in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, or, when required, Adobe AfterEffects. Concept sketches drive the projects with special focus given to the designs’ overall effective communication. As with most other designers, function dictates the form of the work shown.
branding: sushi restaurant The following project illustrates a full branding for a fictional sushi restaurant, Nodokana. The creative brief states: “Nodokana serves to be an upper class elegant night time sushi bar offering only the best fresh meals from world renowned sushi chefs.” Taking its cue from sushi bars such as Sushi Nobu New York and Sushi Roku the overall design guiding the branding was minimalism and class. Required for a full branding are as follows: (1) logo elements, (2) menu, (3) promotional material, e.g., flyers, (4) business cards, (5) product design, and (6) way-finding.

user interface nsac 2013 The National Student Advertising Competition, NSAC, is a nation wide challenge in which students are presented with a case study, a set amount of money, and goal from a company. With this information they are to put forth a plan to better increase the sales for the company by creating both a plans book and giving a presentation at district and national levels. In 2013, Glidden Paint was the sponsor for the NSAC. In order to boost the sales for Glidden Paint, myself and class mates came up with the big idea that with Glidden Paint, you can “Be who you want to be by creating a place where you want to be.” My major contributions to the NSAC 2013 was designing the overall typographic layout to our plansbook, contributing and assisting with product mock-ups, contributing to the illustration of charts and graphs for the plans book, and effectively redesigning Glidden’s mobile application and website.
Glidden mobile application redesign Glidden currently has two mobile apps — one for professionals and one for consumers. We recommend a single application with the same design concept as the professional app. Consumers interact with the app by uploading a photo with a Glidden frame emphasizing “who” they want to be. Users upload this photo directly to their Facebook page, automatically tagging Glidden’s Facebook page in the post.

Glidden website redesign We recommend an update to the Glidden website with a user-friendly layout similar to the current site. With more prominent links to build social media presence, updates in color scheme and additional design components add more visual appeal. The newly renovated tabs highlight the campaign with links to Glidden’s corporate sponsorship and the mobile application.
