Potential in Sustainability Progress Engage As an Entrepreneur and Steward I designed projects for sustainability at Lawrence University, improving our green rating from a C- to an A, challenges us to be champions for the environment.

Act I developed new courses, installed solar energy, improved the recycling system, implemented policy to fund sustainable infrastructure, and implement sustainable food projects. Beyond Lawrence, I gained experience in sustainability with the Forest Service, Winrock, and American Rivers. Above: Standing in front of a photovoltaic solar array I implemented fall term Freshman year. The project was funded by grants from federal and private sector entities. Left: The student run organic orchard, I designed collaboratively with a group of students, to increase sustainable food consumption on campus while fostering a biodiverse habitat for pollinators, birds, and soil life.

Inspire By creating valuable volunteer opportunities in my sustainability initiatives, students are inspired to take action. Right: As a US Forest Service Wilderness Ranger, I design a system, with my team, to survey a millionacre wilderness in Oregon, assessing human impacts and informing policy. Below: Hoophouse designed to extend growing season for a student-run, financially/ecologically sustainable, garden.

Potential in International Cooperation Engage

Act

Directing an educational NGO in Sierra Leone called Kidsgive, I engaged my passions as a Humanitarian, Entrepreneur, Teacher, and even a Farmer to design programs combating lack of education in the world’s poorest areas.

A few of our successes include: thousands of orphans and war torn children in primary school, school gardens, wells, access to higher education for hundreds. As Director I tripled our budget, our volunteer base, and our field partners.

Conducting research with families of scholarship recipients to design optimal development programs.

Inspire Over three year, I brought more than 40 volunteers to the country, in addition to providing opportunities for thousands of local children, inspiring the will to engage and act on their potential. Many of those students are making importance changes around the world in sectors of medicine, fair trade, sustainability, education and others. With our collaborative success, there was plenty of time to engage my passion as a Musician, celebrating with Sierra Leonean music!
