FAO Mark Griffiths, TBC Recruitment Re: Online Sales Executive, Job Reference 2523391 Mr Griffiths, I’ve recently noticed you have a position available in e-commerce sales in media/plastics. This is very similar to what I do currently as an e-commerce director and web-sales manager for a firm dealing with large-scale print media in both retail and public sectors. I'm doing really well in the position but it is only 27 hours per week and I am looking to take my career further in a full-time position. I have read the job desciption thoroughly and believe I have both the qualities and experience you are looking for. I manage 2 main websites and around 20 subsidiaries. Under my direction, I have developed the largest of these sites from very little into one of the market leaders, with Google putting us as rank 1 on their natural listings for many of our best-selling products. I have grown us from a fairly small operation, into competing at a national level and in the last two weeks have secured sales with Cheshire West & Chester Council, Pinewood Studios and The Tower of London. I have a strong sales background from previously managing a high-street store in Chester city centre. Since working in my current job for 12 months, here is what I/we have achieved: Website Page Visits - Up 138% (49,315 up to 117, 377) Average Visit Duration - Up 26% (2:15 up to 2:51) E-commerce Conversion Rate - Up 96% (0.70% up to 1.37%) Average Transaction Value - Up 32% (£102.83 up to £136.11) Revenue - Up 493% Sales Quantities - Up 429% I have a degree in Architecture from Liverpool University, in which I developed very strong presentation and digital graphics skills, which I put to use daily in designing advertising media or exhibition arrays and, of course, for websites. I'm up to speed with all the latest events display techniques, products etc. In your advert, you are looking for someone with passion; I really enjoy my current job, extremely similar to your role, but I want to develop further. I have a varied position which can from day-to-day involve anything from creating proposals (digital representations) and quotations for firms to fitting signs in the monkeyhouse at Chester Zoo... as well as managing a website business. In terms of technologies, I'd like to think that i'm up-to-date with what is out there and indeed what is coming up. In computing terms, I generally use Mac OSx with Quark for large-scale media designs with an array of different image-manipulation and creation softwares. I can obviously design solutions in full 3D also. I can learn software quickly if this job uses systems I'm unfamiliar with. I've attached a few images to show my graphical capabilities and websites. I am creative, but I like to think I'm sensible also. I design solutions that are different to the norm, but at the same time are practical and economically feasible. I have leadership and man-management experience and get along well working in small teams and think I could do really well in this role. Joining a company with global presence is an exciting premise for me and a chance to push myself further. I really look forward to your reply. If you would like to, I am available to interview most days with a little notice. All my contact details are in the letter header. Kind Regards,

Employment History Department Manager, The Writing Place, Chester. 2003-08 As a department manager, I ran half of the store. I was knowledgeable about my products, and was responsible for promotions. I represented the company at trade shows and selected stock for the shop and devised ways of hitting and beating sales targets. I also set up and managed a commercial website and Amazon pro-trader account on behalf of the store, which surpassed expectations by receiving up to 200 additional online orders per week. One achievement I am particularly proud of was selling a Montegrappa pen for $3000, and within two weeks gaining repeat sales for a further $75,000 worth of pens. I had to leave due to University relocation but I really enjoyed this job as I had total responsibility for my area and was able to use my initiative to beat targets. When left in charge of the entire store during holiday periods, I surpassed the projections left by the owners. My daily routines included opening/closing, accounting, banking, recruiting, interviewing, training, merchandising, customer service, transactions, buying, trade fairs, company demonstration days, technical support, website design, online orders, deliveries/logistics and planning sales. Project Manager 2011-2012 Using my Architecture degree, I have undertaken several projects. Over twelve months I designed/built a patio, bespoke steps, a barbecue area, drainage system, sports area, and finally converted an old rotting building into a vibrant summer house/chalet. I performed my own site surveys and ground tests to ensure accurate work. For a general project I will survey, discuss requirements with a client, design, liaise with the client and the go ahead with the work until completion. I developed many transferrable skills such as detailed planning, man-management, budgeting, wage/cost projections. The last project I completed had a budget of £25,000 and it was delivered on time and on target. I have also designed manufacturable components. F&B Supervisor, Holiday Inn Chester 2012-2013 I worked here for 7 months following on from the Queen Hotel and helped turn the F&B team around into a success. As a supervisor I was accountable for stock control/security, full cellar maintenance/management and stock procurement, devising staff training and also disciplining. There was an F&B manager and 2 supervisors; myself and the other only did breakfast shifts in the restaurant, so I was in effect a deputy F&B manager. I designed and implemented training for staff to comply with set company standards which when I left we were well ahead of target. I was in charge of a well-trained, competent team of F&B assistants in bar, restaurant, conferencing and banqueting settings, usually supervising 4-10 people. I did DM duties for the hotel also. Sales Manager and E-commerce Director, 2012-Current SafetySignsUK, Cestrian Signs, UK Safety Signs, A-Board Signs UK & 20+ Subsidiaries I'm responsible for developing and increasing online business and visibility for a group of around 45 websites. I analyse market data and analytics and plan my time and the other web-designers' time. We are currently number one on Google (unpaid) for our key products due to our marketing strategy. For example type 'A board sign' into the search engine and we are top of the ‘non-sponsoreds’. My work over the past 12 months has led to the following successes compared to previous 12 months: Website Page Visits ! Average Duration! Sales Conversion! Average Transaction" Revenue! ! Sales Quantities!
Up 138% (49,315 up to 117,377) Up 26% (2:15 up to 2:51) Up 96% (0.70% up to 1.37%) Up 32% (£102.83 up to £136.11) Up 493% Up 429%
I also deal with key clients and design advertising and sign solutions for them. We currently work with some large institutions such as Cheshire West and Chester Council, several universities, Royal Palaces, Chester Zoo, national defence companies etc. I'm in a position now to run these sites in my spare time from home so am looking for full-time employment.
Other Information Extremely reliable and in good health - only 2 periods of sickness in 8 years' employment. The first of these was confirmed swine flu during the epidemic, the second was contracting noro-virus from Holiday Inn (the hotel was subsequently closed due to outbreak). I'm always well presented. I'm very approachable, confident, friendly and helpful. Hardworking and willing to put in overtime during busy periods Willing to travel and represent the company at events (have plenty of experience at this) Really good at striking up rapport and building friendly business relationships. Very good at networking and using this to an advantage.

Construction Basics Construction methods and materials to be applied to the exhibition and product demonstration zones
Beam fixings and bolts - Made from recycled steel - Excellent strength/tension properties - Sustainable and locally available - Expressed as part of the structure
Primary horizontal beam system - Stiffened /pread equally throughout to maintain structural integrity - !V" reinforcement acts the same as on a steel system, adding additional load-bearing capabilities - Timber is renewable
Recycled steel cable tensioners. - Provide rigidity to the roof - Timber is a natural material and is subject to bend or alter slightly with moisture or load over time if not tensioned correctly - Again sustainable and reduces material quantities A render of how the faรงade wall may appear. (back-ground photograph inaccurate - for illustration purposes)
Recycled steel cable tensioners. - Increase structural rigidity of beams - Lessens quantities of materials needed - Demonstrate openly how the building stands up - Steel is very sustainable if recycled
!V" Braced primary beam, timber. Multi-junction photovoltaic roof - Allows large light penetration to most areas of the building - Water-tight to protect against the elements - Generates renewable energy at 68.5 kWh/m2/year - Comfortably and evenly supported by the secondary beams against snow-load
Timber columns with steel plate pinned rotating fixings - Very sustainable -#Hold the load of the building up. - Plated steel fixings for strength and to avoid splitting. - Shows a renewable material as the main structural component - As the dock will require very little in the way of footings and foundations, this system type further reduces the need for excavations - The rotating pinned fixtures prevent lateral movement in one direction - The structure for the walls/skin of the building will prevent lateral movement in the other direction once designed...
