The beach at the crossing of the rail bridge and the River Waal near Nijmegen (NL) is the most ideal location for the First centre of mobile global art: ContainerMuseum Lent.

The museum is in many ways a meetingpoint; Lent meets Nijmegen, land meets water and art meets recreation.

ContainerMuseum Lent is a place for exhibitions which are displayed in large shipping containers.

The local logistic network is used for the transportation of the shipping containers.

ContainerMuseum Lent will be the first Museum which is part of a Global logistic art network.

The building is designed as a large perforated wall of approximately 200m. At the rail bridge site the shipping containers are placed with the doorway against the opening in the wall. Besides the exhibitions the utilitarian functions are also situated in the shipping containers.

Against the other side of the wall a greenhouse complex is placed. It refers to the historic identity of the village Lent. The greenhouse complex offers access on different levels to the container expositions.

The recent transformation of the gardeners village Lent into an urban setting is translated into the design of the greenhouse building. By creating differences in the height en depth of the separate components the greenhouse building transforms into urban landscape.
