Recruitment Process – Melbourne Step 1 – Apply Online
Be sure to include a current resume and, ideally, a cover letter addressing the job advertisement.
Step 2 – HR screens your application
Once we receive your application, HR will review it in line with the selection criteria If you don’t meet our selection criteria, we will email you to let you know. We store all applications in our secure recruitment system for 12 months in case a suitable vacancy becomes available. If you would prefer your details not to be stored, just let us know.
Step 3 – Manager screens your application
HR will send the shortlisted candidates to the hiring manager for their review. If they feel you do not meet the selection criteria, HR will notify you by email.
Step 4 – Telephone screening
If the hiring manager feels you meet the position requirements, our HR team will call you for a casual chat. We’ll ask you about your experience and why you’d like to work at Wiley.
Step 5 – Interviews
Pending a successful phone screen, you’ll be invited to a face-to-face interview. This will be with the hiring manager, as well as HR or another colleague. This may lead to further interviews. Our HR team will let you know the time of your interview, and will send a job description to help you prepare. If you have any specific access requirements, please let HR know so this can be accommodated. If your interview is unsuccessful, you will be notified either by email or telephone.
Step 6 – Testing
For certain positions, we may ask you to complete some behavioural or skills testing. This will usually be done online, but may also be done at your interview. HR will let you know the details.
Step 7 – Reference Checking
If your interviews are successful, we’ll conduct reference checks with your most recent employers. We’ll always obtain your permission before calling any referees provided.
Step 8 – Job offer
The manager or HR will call you to make the job offer. We’ll follow up this verbal offer with a hard-copy employment contract and other paperwork. Congratulations – you’re now on your way to a successful and fulfilling career at Wiley!
