I hope everyone had a great summer. We certainly had beautiful weather this summer, especially during our shows. This issue is packed full of show results from all of our District Shows and the Wisconsin Championship Show. While there is only room to print the top 5 in each class in the News, please go to our website to view more results for each of the shows. And next month’s issue will have results from State Fair and the WHA Futurity. I’ve included lots of photos from the District and State Shows in this issue - if you would like to see more, please visit the Wisconsin Holstein Association Facebook page. And “like” our page to keep up to date on what’s going on in the Association. Next month will also be our third midwest Holsteins issue of the year - just in time for World Dairy Expo. If you are interested in getting some extra coverage with your ad - to all the Holstein members in the upper midwest AND to visitors to our World Dairy Expo booth - contact me by September 8 to reserve your ad space. I’m also working on putting together the 2015 Breeder Calendar. This is always a fun project to work on each fall and the calendars go over really well at our WDE booth. If you would like to be a part of next year’s calendar please give me a call months are assigned on a first-come firstserved basis. Hopefully you saw the ad on page 31 that we are printing a new membership Directory this fall. The plan is to have this printed to be mailed with the December issue as a kick-off to our 125th Anniversary in 2015. We always have lots of requests for the directory and it’s a very useful piece for our members, so please call or email us to make sure we have your current and correct contact information. If you do not want your information published, please give us a call as well. If you are interested in advertising in the directory, feel free to give me a call anytime before october 15 rates are also on page 31. A reminder that we will be looking for entries for our annual cover contest this fall. Entries will be due November 15. There is no theme for this year’s contest so feel free to send in any photos that include Holstein cows. We’ve expanded our contest and I encourage juniors to bring your best work to the Junior Convention in January. We will be utilizing some of the best entries from that contest on future covers as well. Until next time...
