The Anglo Saxon Chronicle, begun in the reign of King Alfred, contains a reference to Prestbury in the 9th century and, in the Domesday Book of 1066, the population is recorded as 36. Now it is a busy village with a number of shops, a post office and three good pubs (all of which serve food) within walking distance of the cottages.

The elegant spa town of Cheltenham (just 3 miles away) offers many attractions - festivals for literature, science and music, superb architecture, antique shops, galleries, museums, concerts, restaurants and fine shopping - and the famous National Hunt Racecourse. Prestbury is situated approximately 2 hours from London, within an easy drive of Stratford-uponAvon, Broadway, Bath, the Royal Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley, and the many delightful towns and villages of the Cotswolds.
These lovely cottages, named after local hills and each with its own indiviual charm, have been restored with great imagination and attention to detail. Exposed beams, specially commissioned arched windows in Cedar of Lebanon, and American Pine doors with beautiful brass fittings feature within their tastefully furnished and cosily heated interiors. The cottages all have private outdoor areas with tables and chairs. They also share their own meadow for relaxation and games. The view towards Cleeve Hill is outstanding. Church Court Cottages provide the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday within easy reach of all that this lovely part of the country has to offer.
Well worth a visit is Sudely Castle, once the home of Catherine Parr, the only wife of Henry VIII to survive him. Golf courses, tennis, a swimming pool and sports centre, and riding are all within 2 miles. Coarse fishing can be found at Tewkesbury (5 miles). The beautiful surrounding countryside provides excellent walking and the Cotswold Way walk passes near the cottages.
