It is NEFMLS dues time again, and this year you need to watch your email for invoices and MLS Dues information. Your invoice consists of the Annual $350 dues for the period of July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010. It is important to note that this fee is separate from the NEFAR dues you paid earlier this year.

The first important question is “Who pays NEFMLS dues?” The participant, designated realtor, manager, and all licensees and licensed personal assistants/office administrators with MLS System Access are required to pay dues annually. (NOTE: personal assistants/office administrators accessing MLS as their employer must be registered with MLS and must use TOKEN access.)

As of May 25, 2009, invoice notifications have been emailed to all participants who have a valid email address in our membership database. The reasoning behind emailing notifications this year is one way NEFMLS is trying to “go green” and reduce expenses. This method of billing is different than in past years and we want to make sure you know how to find your dues invoice. You can log in to your NEFMLS account. Brokers will receive a separate statement in the mail. The statement consists of the Company/ Office Membership annual fee ($300), the participation dues ($350) for the primary (Broker, Certified Appraiser) Participant, and the dues for all licensed persons and other Participants with authorized access. You are receiving a statement with all your licensees to make sure our records and your records match. Please return a copy of the DBPR RE 2050 you sent to DBPR for persons no longer licensed with you to NEFMLS. As per NEFMLS policy, you are obligated to inform NEFMLS immediately of all new licensees and pay the appropriate fees. NEFMLS and NEFAR audit DBPR records for compliance; therefore if you have any licensees not included in the statement, you are required to notify both parties immediately. The Broker/Manger of Record can log into their NEFMLS account and click on “Look Up Member Open Balances” under “Company Services” to view all subscribers from your office and your MLS Balance Due. MLS Dues must be PAID IN FULL by June 30, 2009. All invoices can be accessed and paid online at “My MLS Account.” Dues are late after a July 15th postmark date. Once your dues are considered late, a $50 late fee will be applied to each member’s account. After July 31, 2009, individual access to the MLS may be terminated and a reinstatement fee of $100 will be applied to each member’s account in addition to the late fee.

Please note that since the SAFEMLS Token rollout, you must register all secretaries, off ce personal assistants in order to allow them access to the MLS as their broker or employer via superuser access. It is a violation- subject to f nes, termination of service, termination of membership, and a violation of section 475.25(1) f Florida Statutes- for anyone to access data of the Multiple Listing Service without authorization. Important: All Listings Must be On the Map in FlexMLS How to View Your Unmapped Listings Due to upcoming changes to Regions and Areas, (see pages 3 & 4) it is extremely important that all of your listings: 1) Appear on the Map in FlexMLS and 2) Appear Correctly on the Map in FlexMLS A quick way to add listings not displaying on the map is to Log in to FlexMLS, under “Add/Change”, click “My Unmapped Listings.” You can use this tool to f nd and edit any of your listings that are not on the map. To correct a listing location on the map, go to “Change Listing” module, select “Map Location.” Please be sure that all of your data is accurate by updating listings on the map. Listings not on the map correctly or not on the map correctly, may be missed on map searches. Page 2


Changes to Regions and Areas In response to many requests to update Regions/Areas, NEFMLS is in the process of making changes. It is important that you review these changes and pay special attention to those that affect your market area. While the actual effective date is yet to be announced, there are tasks we can all do now to ensure a smooth transition to these changes. One very important item is to be sure your listings are on the current map correctly. (see page 2 of this newsletter for instructions) On the next 2 pages, you will f nd a chart summarizing the upcoming changes. Any description in Red indicates a change. At the end of the summary you will f nd a link that will provide a map and description for each change.
