Reduce your library fines and give back to your community! All donations benefit the Joseph House in Salisbury, MD SUGGESTED LIST OF DONATIONS CANNED VEGETABLES, RICE, PASTA, CAKE MIXES, BREAKFAST CEREAL, CANNED TUNA AND CHICKEN, CANNED OR PACKAGED SOUPS, INSTANT MASHED POTATOES, JELL-O, INSTANT COFFEE, COCOA, AND PEANUT BUTTER. For each sealed, non-expired foodbank donation brought in, the Library will mark $1 of overdue fines as paid.
How does this work? Visit one of the Library’s locations during normal business hours (Downtown, Pittsville, and Centre). Present your library card at the Circulation Desk. For each $1 of overdue fines, present 1 qualified food bank donation. The staff member at the desk will remove that amount from your account.
**Good for overdue fines only. Accounts with charges for lost, billed, or damaged items cannot use the amnesty program to cover those items. Overdue items that are still checked out must be returned before you can “donate” towards that fine. Library members owing over $25 in fines - bring in 25 items and we will clear all remaining overdue fines. This program will end when the Library closes on Saturday, December 16, 2017.
