THOUGHTS FROM OUR DIRECTOR

WELCOME TO THE FUTURE . . . This marketing slogan has been used time and time again, whenever a company felt their new product or service was changing how you might “do business”. That kind of game-changing shift is not something that is usually associated with the library, but this time it is exactly what we are doing. Our new online catalog is a game changer. With the latest in updated software, an expanded catalog, including the holdings of all 8 libraries on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and the ability to search not only our physical collection but to search, at the same time, our digital collections, this new Eastern Shore Consortium will change how you and your library work together. As with any change, there is a time for learning and discovery. We hope you will explore this new catalog and try things out. We also hope you will be patient as our staff members serve you. They are also learning this new system and it may take a bit longer for them to check out your books or answer your questions. There will be some adjustments over the coming weeks, as we settle into this new system, and you will have questions which we will work to answer promptly and accurately. But overall, we are very excited to unveil our new online catalog and to share the future of library service with you. Andrea Berstler, Executive Director
