Five-foot-9 sophomore post player Alex Firemoon leads the offense. Other key players include 5-6 freshman point guard April Brown and 5-4 junior guard Waverly Bear. “We try to go inside because teams have a hard time stopping Alex,” Johnson said. Johnson said their opponents tend to focus their defensive effort on denying Firemoon the ball, forcing Brockton to
rely on perimeter shooting, something it has not had much success with this season. Defensively, the Lady Warriors throw a variety of looks at their opponents, utilizing zones, man-to-man and the occasional full-court press. Brockton will likely not advance far in the District 2-C tournament, but Johnson hopes his team will work hard. “I hope we play hard and give our best effort,” he said.
