MSB 25.10.005 VOTER QUALIFICATION. (A) A person may vote in a borough election only if the person: (1) is qualified to vote in state elections under AS 15.05.010; (2) has been a resident of the borough for 30 days immediately preceding the election; (3) is registered to vote in state elections at a residence address within the borough at least 30 days before the borough election at which the person seeks to vote; and (4) is not disqualified under Article V of the State Constitution.

Candidate Qualifications: Any person is eligible for Borough office if the person is a qualified voter of the Borough and meets State and Borough requirements for the office. Candidates for Assembly seats shall reside in the Borough and in the Assembly District for which they file and meet the requirements of MSB 2.12.030. Any Borough resident is eligible to run for a seat on the School Board. Candidates shall provide proof that they are eligible, or shall be eligible by the date of the election, to be recognized as a candidate for any election.

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough has received an application for an Administrative Permit for Earth Materials Extraction. The site is located at 19116 W. Belarde Blvd., Big Lake (MSB Tax Parcel 17N04W25B019; within Township 17 North, Range 4 West, Section 25, Seward-Meridian). The Administrative Permit will allow for the removal of 5,000 cubic yards.
