PUBLIC NOTICE Type: Permit (MSB006917) The Little Susitna River Access Personal Use Firewood Harvest Area will open April 9, 2014. This area is located at the end of the West Susitna Parkway. Access is from the Parks Highway, Big Lake Road, South Big Lake Road and West Susitna Parkway. Access and removal restrictions will be strictly enforced. This area is designated as personal use only for harvest of MSB forest resources. A $25 permit is required and may be obtained from the Land & Resource Management Division between the hours of 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri. beginning Wednesday April 9, 2014 at the Mat-Su Borough Administration Building, located at 350 E. Dahlia Avenue, Palmer. Please be prepared to provide the year, make, model and license number of all motorized vehicle(s) or trailers to be used while harvesting the timber. The permit must be in your possession during the removal of wood from the site. The cost for each cord of wood is $25 with a maximum of ten cords per household per year from the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. The permit will expire after all available wood has been removed but no later than December 31, 2014.
