11th Annual Empty Bowls - February 11th, 2017 In 1990, a high school art teacher in Michigan helped his students solve a problem. They were searching for a way to raise money to support a food drive. What evolved was a class project to make ceramic bowls for a fund-raising meal. Guests were invited and served a simple meal of soup and bread. They were asked to keep the bowl as a reminder of hunger in the world. By

the next year, the originators had refined their concept to be known as “Empty Bowls.” The project was designed to provide food banks, soup kitchens, and other organizations like Valley Assistance Services to help people in need who are making choices to pay the rent or buy groceries. As a participant of our event, you will select a

handcrafted ceramic bowl designed by local area potters (Green Valley Ceramics Studio, the Clay Studio and the Quail Creek Ceramics Club). As you sample donated soup from local chefs, please take the bowl home as a reminder . . . that someone’s bowl is always empty. Thanks to over 450 individuals and over 50 volunteers, our event last year

The December Mixer, featuring an “Ugly Holiday Sweater” contest was hosted by Homewatch CareGivers and Prestige Assisted Living. The festive dining room at Prestige with their tall Christmas tree was the perfect setting for the last mixer of the year. Networking, food and drink, were enjoyed by attendees, along with cheering for their favorite “Ugly Sweater” contestant. Sue N., Chamber Volunteer and “new” Events Committee Chair took first place. A group of residents participated in the event and were “impartial” judges for the contest. A fun evening for all that attended!

Our mission is to be the number one choice in auto body repair for insurance company partners and car and truck owners in Green Valley. We accomplish this by exceeding the expectations of both you and our insurance company partners. This can only happen by continuously and consistently providing first quality auto body repair and auto paint work, on time as promised, and at a competitive price. Our customer philosophy - without customers, we would not be in business. Therefore, we believe that we can be most successful by having as little impact on our customers’ lives as possible. If a customer’s auto body repair feels it was done smoothly and seamlessly, then we have succeeded. We know that a customers’ car is an important part of their lives, not to mention a reflection of one’s self. A car accident, regardless of the size, can sometimes be a major lifechanging event. We know that our job is to guide the customer through the re-

Rodeos are magical…. they are at once thrilling, enchanting, wonderfully captivating and astonishing…. but they are not supernatural…. they do not occur all on their own !! To pull a rodeo together it takes many committees and many more volunteers. The time has come to bring some magic to the Santa Cruz Valley International Pro Rodeo by inviting all volunteers to miraculously appear. The SCVIP Rodeo Board members share co-responsibility for the successful coordination and leadership of the Rodeo committees and volunteers. The Rodeo Board has established standing and special committees to produce the Rodeo and its related events all designed to promote area businesses, accommodations, restaurants, recreational and tourist activities. The SCVIP Rodeo Board is looking for innovative people ready to be challenged.… people who have experience working with committees and volunteers…. people ready to put in long hours doing hands-on work.
