How to Make a Reservation


The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association and the Wisconsin Bureau of Consumer Protection offer the following recommendations to help make your stay in our state enjoyable! Reservation policies vary by property and travelers are encouraged to reserve in advance whenever possible to ensure space is available. Most properties require a valid credit card to hold a reservation and many require an advance deposit. Ask about the property’s cancellation policy and fee. Should you need to cancel, contact the property and ask for a cancellation number and record the time of the call and the name of the person with whom you spoke. Upon making a reservation, many properties will assign a confirmation number and may follow up in writing. Ask the property to note the rate, length of stay and special requests they agreed to accommodate in the confirmation. If this is not possible, call in advance to re-confirm. Room rates listed in this guide are subject to change without notice. Clarify your rate when the reservation is

made. If you have a certificate or group rate, check for any special conditions or limitations. If you have a preference, need or special request that makes a considerable impact on your stay (bringing a pet, requiring a rollaway bed, etc.), talk to the property about it when you make your reservation to assure your needs can be met.
