Project Statement 1. Background What is the background for this intervention? Why are you doing it? Tina Fey has just recently published a book, season 6 of 30 Rock is about to premiere and she’s pregnant with her second baby. She’s been known for her skits on Saturday Night Live where she impersonates Sara Palin and weekly update. She is a household name and known for her comedy writing. 2. Target Audiences Who do you want to reach with your communication? Be specific? This communication will reach her fans as it will be a piece that can be placed along side an article or as a magazine cover. It may also be used as promotional piece for the show 30 Rock, as all the words are things she says in the show. 3. Objectives What do you want your target audience to do after they hear, watch or experience this communication? Hopefully they will become more interested in Tina Fey and her work and if they haven’t watched her skits or show then maybe they’ll start. 4. Obstacles What beliefs, cultural practices, pressures, and misinformation stand between your audience and the desired objective? Some people may not like Tina Fey or think she’s funny so they may not find the piece worth anything and/or read the article that it could accompany. Hopefully the piece would never be used to shed Tina Fey in a negative light, for instance if it was used for an article, the article wouldn’t be about how horrible Tina Fey is, as the piece is meant to be fun. 5. Key Benefit Select one single benefit that the audience will experience upon reading the objective(s) you have set? A key benefit for Tina Fey is that, hopefully she will gain a larger audience for her show and skits, and possibly gain readers. 6. Support Statements/ Reasons Why These are the reasons why the key benefit outweighs the obstacles and the reasons that what you are promoting is beneficial. These reasons often become messages. Tina Fey is a household name and most people recognize her as the hilarious Liz Lemon on 30 Rock. She’s also known for playing Sarah Palin on SNL. Because of her hit show and her newly released book this project could be used in a number of ways. Most obvious way to, would be in a magazine article either about her or her show. It could also be placed on promotional gear for the show 30 Rock. For instance, the NBC store has tons of memorabilia for their shows and this piece could be placed on a shirt or mug for fans of the show to purchase. 7. Tone What feeling should you communication have? Should it be authoritative, light, or emotional? Pick a tone. The tone is light and funny. 8. Media What channel(s) or form will the communication take? Television? Radio? newspaper? poster? Point of purchase? flyer? all of the above? The communication can be printed either on posters, magazine articles/covers, NBC memorabilia for the show 30 Rock.
