NEW ZEALAND DIPLOMA IN ENROLLED NURSING Enrolled nurses work under the direction and delegation of a registered nurse in a variety of health and disability settings
Enrolled nurses assist registered nurses to deliver nursing care to individuals in community, residential and hospital settings. Enrolled nurses contribute to nursing assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation; however the registered nurse remains responsible overall. The Enrolled nurses perform delegated interventions from the nursing care plan to: provide care and comfort for individuals and groups, assist and support clients with the activities of daily living, observe and report changes in individual/group conditions and behaviours, safeguard dignity and promote independence.
PROGRAMME INFORMATION The 18 month Diploma is a combination of theory i.e. classroom based sessions at our Porirua campus, and supported clinical experience, which is practical/ hands-on work completed in a variety of community and hospital settings.
