This course will challenge students to objectively investigate the roles of faith, trust, and reason in determining the beliefs that we use as the foundational elements to our worldview.
Students will understand and apply the disciplines of epistemology and metaphysics in determining a personal answer to what is real as well as understanding and being equipped to interact with opposing beliefs, assumptions and perceptions with gentleness and respect.
Students will examine the concept of truth and determine what makes something objectively worthy of trust and evaluate the evidence to decide if an absolute standard for truth exists.
Students will investigate the evidence to ascertain if a trustworthy revelation of truth exists and analyze and form conclusions regarding the foundation of faith that they will choose to build their life upon.
