got toys?

 Dustless Hardwood Floors (487 Haddon Ave, Collingswood) is collecting gently used toys and children’s books for donation to New Visions in Camden. New Visions – a homeless day shelter for men, women, and children – provides hot showers, laundry facilities, a food pantry, a clothing closet, mail services, and social services to Camden’s neediest residents. Last year, with the support of partnering businesses and local residents, more than twovans worth of items were donated to New Visions. Children at the shelter were each able to choose four toys at Christmas time. Help Dustless Hardwood Floors make magic this holiday season by donating new toys and recycling old ones. Toys can be left in the box on the porch at Dustless Hardwood Floors or donated inside during business hours. For more information, contact Donna Shourds at 833-0024 or e-mail The Holiday Magic donation program was started by Collingswood resident Susan Tucker in 2009. Dustless Hardwood Floors began working with Tucker and New Visions last year. Dustless Hardwood Floors has also collected recycled items for use by the local Head Start program.

 After operating for several years in Haddon Township, The Delaware Valley Swing Club, a non-profit social dance group, has moved to Collingswood. The club generally hosts a dance on the third Saturday of each month at the Collingswood Cloud Masonic Lodge (790 Haddon Ave, 2nd Floor). This month however, the dance will be held on Wed Nov 23. An all-levels dance lesson will be held from 8 to 9pm. Open Dance will be held from 9pm to 12m. The almost-world-famous Smorgasbord Snack Table will be open during the dance. In December, the dance event will be held on the third Saturday, Dec 17. The dance lesson will be held at 7pm, followed by Open Dance from 8pm to 12m. The public is invited to attend. Dance lessons cost $5. Admission to the Open Dance is $10 for members and $12 for non-members. Your first visit to these dance events will be free. More good news: You don’t need a partner to dance the night away! The club is beginner friendly and the DJs spin a variety of music. For more information, visit
