he Holliday Collective blog is a homemaker’s dream come true. Complete with insightful and creative information on a variety of topics ranging from food, to home décor, to business, the blog is a comprehensive example of DIY and professional advice at its best. This successful blog’s beginning arose from a simple suggestion to document ideas and blossomed before blogging became particularly well-known. The moment Brandon met Crystal, he knew two things for certain: she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen and he needed to seize the opportunity to speak to her. Crystal initially turned down his request for her number as she was already seeing someone. To most, it would seem that that would be the end of it. However, it was far from the end. It wasn’t until months later that the fairytale quality of their meeting kicked in. Through some planning by Brandon and the help of mutual friends, Crystal and Brandon met again at a wedding. In 2006, they married and found an apartment in Houma. The happy addition of a child to their family caused the couple to seek out a house where they could begin to make lasting memories. They chose a house that they could personalize and update and they knew that it was the one they wanted to make their long-term home. It was the projects involved in the shaping of this house that opened the door to The Holliday Collective. Crystal initially started a blog on beauty at Brandon’s suggestion, an idea which was prompted by his web developing expertise. However, it wasn’t long before Crystal realized she wasn’t particularly enthralled by writing about beauty topics. In Crystal’s view, blogging is far more than just a way to make money; it’s more personal. She says, “if you never received a penny for blogging, what would you still be happy to write about? That’s
